Carl, that's him. I happened on this article doing a Google search to try to find his bio.

    http://www.tnonline.com/2011/mar/28/palmerton-native-promoted-lieutenant-general

I actually have met him - I spent my first 13 years in artillery so I know a lot of FA guys from the 76-77-78 year groups since we all went through schools, etc at the same time. He was a year ahead of me at the National War College. I never realized he was from Palmerton.

By the way, I was born and raised in Easton.

    Good morning, everyone!!

And proud of it. SOmeday - and don't blink because it won't be too long - you'll be there, too. Just hope you can look back and be proud of what you've done with all those years and opportunities.

For a youngster you are up early, or are you just going to bed?

    Morning Mark.

It is motorcycle week at Ocean City. Maryland. Lots of really nice looking bikes.

I've been up for several hours, taking care of the pups and enjoying the peacefulness. Fall is here - leaves are starting to change and I love this time of the year. Nothing like the solitude of Mighty Mortgage Manor to start my day off right!!

I don't know him that well, but he seemed like a nice "kid". his friend says that hes a really nice man,and he's known him for years. he was a really good basketball player in HS. easton-claim to fame, larry holmes. get down there every shad contest, either to weigh fish,or to get our hats that are given out by the contest. usually just to get our hats. did get a 10th place one year. entered the longest fish and came in 10th. (they go by weight) ??????-not enough lead I guess. just read article on the gen. thanks. that was in our local paper, that I don't get. article said 3 star, either got a promotion since,or source was wrong. was told 4 star. Carl, From what I can tell he is still a 3-star. Might have been nominated for the 4th - I'll check around and see if I can find anything.

ANother day on the green side of the grass begins! WooHoo!!!

Spent the morning yesterday taking my mom to an appointment, then the afternoon helping at one of her neighbor's setting up a wireless router and Roku box so she could watch Glenn Beck TV on her TV instead of the computer. Then, we spent the evening taking Lynn's parent's out to dinner to meet their friends.

Today, I am hoping to finally get the grass cut and move two yards of top soil to landscape the arbor we put in the yard last month.

    Good Sunday morning all!

Mark, sounds like you're having a busy weekend. My plans for doing nothing actually happened....A good friend came over and took wifey and me out to lunch and then the three of us went for a ride out in the country in the new Taco.
Today looks like big rain, getting here in the next few minutes.....hurray for our side!

    Good Sunday morning all!

Shazam Mark you had a busy day. Top soil is heavy. I found the wheel barrow was not loaded as much as when I was younger but I am still able to do the work. ;)

Hope we can get in another round of mini golf today.

Sounds like a great day for staying in and watching football, Rob!!

Tom - enjoy another day there with your family! Looks like good weather for us on the east coast.

One of the good things about aging is that you actually start to use your brain...so I had the topsoil dropped right next to the arbor since that's where the majority - if not all - of it will go. If I do have to move any to another project, I have a big dump cart that I can tow behind the ATV and dump it where I need it.

I haz no dumpcart. I has shovel and wheel barrow. I did your suggestion with 5 CUYD of topsoil for my Sister in law this summer. Basically filling in a swampy area at her cottage.

I also moved 4 CUYD of crushed stone for a shed foundation this summer. That was work but I completed it.

Speaking of the shed I hope to finish the painting this week.
