A true 3"?

Hi guys, Ive been reading the forums for the last couple of months. I've learned alot, but there is still a few things I dont fully understand. I want to lift my truck 3". As I understand, most of you guys have 3 inch lifts. So maybe yall can help me out!

1)If I put billstein 5100's up front set at 0. And eibach coils, and a 1.5" AAL. I should get a 3 inch lift?

2) Is it okay to run this with stock shocks, Ect in the back?

3) will eibach's allow me to run an ARB bumper in the future?

4) I should be okay without new uca's?

Like I said, I HAVE done my reading and theres just a few things i need clarification on.

What size tire are you planning on running?

 

A ton of ppl have the Eibachs with out UCAs. It wouldn't hurt tho, but not really required.

Yes you can run a plate bumper, go Elite tho

and no, you'll need extended travel shocks like 5125s or 5150s.

Also i doubt just a 1.5'' AAL will bring you up to 3''. Id get some 1.5'' shackles too. or just a leaf pack that gives you lift

I thought stock the rear was 1.5" taller than the front? If so wouldn't I only need a 1.5 inch AAL to make it level with the 3" lifted front?

 

With my lift, I have a little over 3" in the front and had just an 1.5" Wheelers AAL in the rear. The back end sat noticably further down than the rear, so I installed a 1" shackle that raised the truck back up and gave it a 3/4" rake. I would definitely recommend a 2" AAL over the 1.5" if you are planning on a 3" lift in the front and want to level it out, or do a combo if you want a little more and have a slight rake.

What about a diff drop, do i need one with a 3" lift?

 

For a first gen, yes.

Grab a diff drop and do the CV Boot slide mod.
Save yourself from

 

Or just buy a CV from AutoZone lifetime warranty I can change about 5 CV axles it the time it takes to do the CV slide mod.

 

alright almost got it all lined up.. Do you have to use 5100's with the eibach coils or are there a cheaper shock alternative that is still pretty good? same for the back, or can they only be 5125 to compensate for the rear being lifted. I know that was confusing, sorry

 

i have 2" AAL in the rear of my truck and just put in some 5100's all around the other day it and feels good. when i took out the old shocks (rears) i compared them to the 5100's and the 5100's were a few inches longer. I called DSM before placing an order and that's what they recommended.

 

the way the 5100's are valved make the ride with the eibachs the best, but realistically you can use any shock.
(5100's cant be beat for the price though, check out Downsouth Motorsports, they carry them cheap and have a TW discount as well)
As for the back, there's extended 5100's that you can buy, or you can get the 5125s or even the 5150's

Diff drops are retarded... Raise the truck, just to lower the ground clearance under the front, defeats the purpose IMO. meh.

 

Yea but the lift gives you more clearance to fit bigger tires, raising the differential with the taller tires.

give DSM a call about the 5125's to make sure you order the correct length. Everything else, it's all good
