Jjew18, I got the rack for free through a trade so I will rock it for now but I would recommend building your own if you can. The yakima is a generic one size fit all type rack and sits very high over the cab (about 10 inches or so). I have taken 2 fully rigged kayaks out on a fishing trip with no problems but its very hard to load a kayak by yourself. Ill try to get some pics of how it mounts.

I am not too worried about the wait time. I will have it for a LONG time so I don't mind waiting for a quality product to be built properly. I definitely want a one piece design. Time to use the search button and read reviews on Relentless vs. Elite. My front bumper is about to fall off pretty soon and the price of an OEM bumper is ridiculous.

What model did you get? Ive been an avid gun owner for years now and recently ran into someone that sparked my interest in bow hunting. I like the idea of silent hunting.

Speaking of silence, I took apart my suppressor recently after 2000 rounds and boy was it dirty! Time to dip it and clean it tomorrow.

Have you bought all the stuff that goes with it? Release, arrows, broad heads, case and not to mention the kitchen sink.
I have had good luck with Muzzy broad heads and beeman arrows.
I have tried both size vains and have not seen a difference using the shorter blazer vanes.

It does start to add up. I bought the Academy brand target that is layered foam for $30 and it has held up great.
Any idea what kind of broad heads you are gonna get? I have thought about changing this year but not sure to what.

Has anyone local done the BHLM with success?
Since getting my grill color matched I have been wanting the lights done even more.
If someone with experience wants to help that would be great.

That might count. Did it turn out good and did you have any fogging or yellowing after wards?
Maybe a day of painting and fishing are in order?

It turned out great, no fogging or yellowing. Although I did wait 24 hours after painting before sealing them back up. So it would take more than a day if we follow that protocol.

I'm always up for it anytime you guys want to come fishing. The lake is 5 feet low at the moment though so most of the places I usually fish are above water now

Don't be afraid of deep water bass fishing. It's way different and you have to really have confidence in your tactics.
Swim baits and carolina rigs have pulled in some giants during cooler months from deeper water.
I might be down for coming out there for a little help and maybe teach you a thing or 2 about catching fish.

I know how to catch fish :D

However, It is very difficult to deep water bass fish when you don't have a boat

Man, I miss bass fishing. All the lakes around here are all basically dried out though. I wonder what happens to all the fish in this case. Im assuming they get eaten by predators? This year's drought has really taken its toll on the fishing down here.

Yeah luckily the lakes around here are fairly large and deep (50') or so, so I assume all of the fish are just chilling in the deepwater until the level comes back up.....

By the way, I'm Keith, welcome to the BS.

I once was like you Adam. Then hit a huge plastic water line in sugar cane field on a small dirt path between two fields. My interest for mud ended that afternoon as a lake was quickly forming around my stuck truck.

If we went much longer without rain you wouldn't have needed a boat. My cousin and I went down around some of the boat docks around here last night and saw a lot of junk that hasn't been seen in years because of the water. It is amazing how many missing people/cars are being found this summer.

Well, did your truck make a decent boat? :D
