Thieves like that should be locked up forever.. or shot on sight. The thought of someone making a conscience decision to steal someone's property like that makes me sick..

Sorry to hear that. If anything insurance will cut you a check and you'll save money since you have the stock radio. It was probably targeted because you were in river oaks. Nowhere is safe. Especially in Houston.

What model do you recommend. I am going to get a different car, and I have to build my 86 PU. So yeah..I need to protect my kids.

See this is the weird part. Last week I got towed and my alarm didnt go off. My alarm is SUPER sensitive. I mean wind blows hard enough and it will beap. My car WAS locked, I know because I had to unlock it to move it. It didnt go off both times.

I do believe I had this system, as well as my HID's tails, and speakers insured...but I am not sure.....I will find out tomorrow.

if you have comprehensive you should have it covered regardless of whatever stereo unit you have in it. Just provide receipts. Looks like they didn't cut any wires, just pulled it out and unplugged it and ran.

Comprehensive often does not cover aftermarket stereos. When my last one was stolen they told me damage to the dash would be covered but the head unit was not covered. I'm sure this is by design on the insurance company's part. Seems like a high percentage of them seem to get stolen eventually

    addendum...

    That @#$$%^( !!!

got Clifford alarm on all vehicles.
The alarms have kept my cars and belongings MINE..
each alarm install takes really 3-5 hours !!!

each intall I watched the guy(s) put in top of the line units
    ...sonar ( proximity warnings )
... anti-jacking ( cuts power when crook takes your baby and he stops .. car goes dead)
    .... motion and glass sensor

lastly I know they are good alarms I installed the cheaper stuff Viper , code alarm etc.
Clifford uses black wires ( ALL wires are BLACK )
the alarm even has fake wires foil alarm proficient thieves.

I never installed the SMOKER or FOGGER units ( $800 option !! )
Clifford normally are topshelf.. at aroound $400 to 800 installed.

only thing is crook can still smash and grab BUT MY BABY stays mine !!! Else they tow it !! and chopshop it
