i've been pro-SEC since those rumors came out...it'd make decent sense really...esp with the ACC trying to be a yankee conference

Clean hit or no? Looks to me like he led with the shoulder and when the impact made the stop the other kids head slammed forward putting his facemask on the helmet resulting in the helmet coming off.

I also think the OU players sandwiching the kid from FSU on the goal line was a clean hit. Neither player hit him in the head.

I agree with you. Either of those hits separately would've not been questioned nor hurt the guy. Just the combination of them did. Sure was scary to watch though. I hate seeing players hit the ground and not move.

you honestly think he led with his shoulder? He dropped his helmet right before impact...clearly...the helmet started flying off before any other part of his body started to show the hit.

Hell we're still that bad. A one dimensional offense isn't going to cut it in the SEC. Tennessee's total rushing was -2. Yeah the total was better before the game began than after it. I still think Bray is one of the best qbs in the conference. We will see with jackson being out for the season likely. Oh well. I guarantee that we will not lose this weekend!

Watch the replay @ :44. you never lose sight of the crown of his helmet. If the UCLA players helmet didnt come off I dont think it would have been a penalty.

i spent the last like 5 mins replaying it....just because the blow wasnt the crown directly doesnt mean it wasnt helmet to helmet...cuz his shoulder pad damn sure wasnt the first thing to make contact with his helmet.

the texas players helmet deflects to the left side of the screen and the UCLA players helmet rotates in a way that it would for the direction of the texas players helmet making the contact.

Purely because of cash flow. Helps football and mens basketball.

A football helmet SHOULD NEVER COME OFF. Yeah it was a big hit, but that means the players helmet wasn't tight on his head as it should be.

Glad South Carolina actually dropped a couple of spots in the polls. Don't get me wrong, I am a USC fan, but definitely not top 10 - probably not even a top 15 team. So far our strategy has been Lattimore to the left, Lattimore to the right and Lattimore up the middle - wait for the opposing team to score and then repeat.

I know that ECU, UGA and Navy are not bad teams, but USC has looked flat footed on defense (except for a couple of plays at Georgia) and downright pathetic on offense with the exception of Lattimore. A win is a win, but there will not be too many more unless the defense finds its way and Garcia/offense find a way to take the load off of Lattimore and spread it around. Regardless, I will be right there on Saturday hoping/cheering like I have since 1977. Go Gamecocks!

IMO, Your offense won't look better until you get a QB. You have a great RB (Lou Holtz said he reminded him of a slightly slower Herschel Walker), but until you get a QB that can take the pressure off of Lattimore, you won't get any better.
