Craigslist man. Found them down in E-City. Guy brought them to me. Pretty good deal considering what they cost new.

Theres a big difference between frame-mounted sliders, and body-mounted step bars....

What are we talking about here, the "predator step bars" that come on some of the tacomas from the dealer, that look like the n-fabs?

Im not sure where they came from. They mount to the body and not the frame. Im new to this tacoma thing honestly. My last one was a 96 that I had in high school. I picked my truck up yesterday and it didnt have step bars on it at all. I guess the previous owner took them off. The main purpose for these will be to help the kid get in the truck, not planning on off roading other than hunting with it.

Oh, well if they mount on the body, I wouldnt use them as a slider. That will mess up your body work.

Like I said, the most off-road this truck will do is hunting or fishing

Sounds like they are a good choice for you.

The term "sliders" has a pretty specific connotation on here, that's why I asked.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

I saved 3k by driving an hour down the road. These franchise dealers local to us are ridiculous

For sure, got an employee discount at checkered flag. Right below market value. And got a huge warranty. So I did stick with checkered flag. Although they are these dealerships you speak of
