Good to know that I will be ok this first winter in my 4x2. last winter I had my 4x4 4.0L Tacoma and as bad as the winter was, I barely even used the 4x4. So I decided to save some money and go with the 4x2, less stuff to break and much better mpg's, oh and I love the 5 speed manual!

Ohio snow wasn't much of an issue. I had like 1 sand bag in the bag, almost pointless, so I slid once or twice and kicked the ABS in.

On a random side note, for the snow, they've been using some new crap on the roads around here, it seems to be EATING brake lines. I'm going to buy a can of undercoating and go to town before the winter really sets in.

I'm a tad over 1/2 tank, have to make this one last, can't just drive around aimlessly this week.

Light came on at 530 miles, and I'm now at 545. I'll fill up tomorrow morning and see what the numbers say. :)

Thank you. It should fall between 29.5 and 31.5...I know it was closer to 31 but a lot of short trips recently may have changed that.

I average 460 to 520 miles per tank when driving slow. If I step on it its 400 or less per tank.

    Okay what the heck...

I have a 2011 4x4 4 banger completely stock minus secondary air filter. Since seeing this post a few weeks ago I've been trying to see what I could get...

Went through two tanks since then. first one got 375 and the second 395. (trying to break that 400)

Am I the worst driver ever or what? I have been shifting as close to 2k as reasonably possible but not nearly reaching the same numbers some of you are posting!

Is this about what other 6 lugger 4x4s are getting?

It's about what kind of MPGs 4 banger Tacomas are getting. 5 lug, 6 lug, 4x4, 4x2, don't matter. Post away man, you're rockin' the 2.7L!!!

Don't get discouraged by Andrew and Worthy, they have the added benefit of living in Colorado, so they get a little extra something for driving in that environment. They are a bit more of the "exception" than the "norm."

And shit man, you get nearly the same "tank mileage" as me, and I'm a little 5 lugger, so you're not doing bad at all!

Ran two more tanks through on a trip last week. Mostly Interstate driving around 73 MPH. First tank:

    FuelRange2_ec128ee0650489a339e56612ee85d3b9f6afbee5.jpg

Went 382.0 miles at 21.72 MPG. Filled up this morning (no picture) at 393.3 miles at 22.01 MPG, but this tank included being stuck in a traffic jam for about 30 minutes. Expecting mileage to start dropping soon when the winter gas starts rolling out.

I'd say you are doing really well for a 4x4
my 6 lug prerunner doesn't get much better
A scangauge really helps with mileage
and shift at 1500 instead of 2
