Has anyone ever used these 1/4" wheel spacers they have at Pep Boys? I bought a set of used Eagle rims and with my Spidertrax spacers on, they rub like crazy. Without the Spidertrax, I'm just barely scraping the outside edge of the caliper. Looking at replacing the front studs with slightly longer ones and then putting on a 1/4" spacer. I see Wheeler's has one on their website too for this purpose.

They should work fine. Just make sure the center bore matches and you buy extended studs.

Can you post a link to those spacers? The search on their site comes up with nothing.

Here's the link on Wheelers. I can't find the ones on Pepboy's web site but I saw them there the other day next to the lug nuts.

I just found that a minute ago. On the 95-04 page, they have the extended lug nuts, and in black. I have the spline drive nuts for my XD wheels. I figure I could get the 1/4" spacers for all fours and the ext lugs. I doubt the 95-04 factory ext lugs would work on a 05+ stock wheel?

Dom't mean to hijack the thread, but it may help the OP too.

You don't need extended lugs, you need extended studs.
When you throw a spacer on, the amount of threads in contact decreases. You might still have enough holding but would need to figure that out for your self.

I guess one would have to see how far the lug screws on now. Of there is a 1/4" gap already, the spacer and ext threads would work. If there is no gap to the wheel mount, then the extended studs would be needed.

Extended thread lug nuts are also an option

I got to clarify...if with the current setup I have 1/4" of bare stud thread inside the wheel, then once I put on the spacer, an extended lug nut that is 1/4" longer than stock will get back that lost 1/4" from the spacer by using that unused thread inside the wheel.

I just need to test that hypothesis.

An extended lug that has a 1/4" shank will gain it back.

The overall length of the lug nut doesn't matter, it's the shank depth.

For reference, the "shank" is the portion measuring 0.30" in the top row of the diagram below, stolen from gorilla's website.

    Thanks for that!
