Scan Gauge w/ Blend Mount Installed (Pics)

Hello Everyone,

I just installed the Scan Gauge II with blend mount today. Installation was very simple and everything turned out great. I bought everything from Mike at MGT Motorsports. http://www.mgtmotorsports.com/ They had the best price I could find ($189 shipped for both). If anyone is considering this product, I would definitely recommend it. Be sure not to over tighten the bolts. I did and stripped one by accident. Here are a few pictures for ya:

Really nice! I got a blend mount, but it doesn't work as well as this if you have the auto-dimming mirror...

 

I love it and I wish I would have bought it sooner.

 

its a tight fit in there with the auto-dim isnt it.

Looks great -- perfect position... Now you need the Homelink autodim mirror....

Yeah. It will fit, I just didn't like how it would have been tilted down so much and not straight like Neubs's's's. So, I just took the angled bracket from the Blendmount and mounted it in the cubby in front of the shifter.

Your's looks good too Long Horn. I had to fiddle with the mount for about 30 minutes to get it perfectly straight and then ended up stripping out the bolt that connects the circular clamp to the L bracket. I had to use one of the supplied longer spacers but it all worked out in the end.

 

Good to know I'm not crazy! When I ordered mine and it didn't fit, well it fit but that tilt was unacceptable, I ended up doing what you did and put it in the cubby behind the drink holders, I'm going to permanently install it when I do my stereo in the next few weeks.

I called Mike and told him it didn't work, he was great with customer service. I took about a dozen pictures for him and he said he'd look at making a shallower mount for the 09's, I'm hoping to see that soon, if not, that cubby is fine.

+1 Mike is a great guy. They actually forgot to ship the Scan Gauge II with my order and only shipped the blend mount. I called right away and Mike severely apologized for the mistake and sent the gauge priority mail the next day. I had it two days later not to mention he gave me an extra CAT5 cable for my other car. He is class act.

 

i kinda know what scan gauges do, but where exactly do they plug in? or do they even plug in?

 

The plug into the OBDII port under the steering wheel.

 

Looks good neubs. Thats where i was thinking about mount the one i'm getting.

ok i went and read about it... seems to be mostly about gas milage..but i like how it can diagnose enginer light issues

 

Many find the immediate benefit of being able to see how much gas your using when you drive (MPG function) you may find yourself easing up on that skinny pedal and even coasting now and then, I think that has been my main benefit, knock on wood, I haven't need to pull a code yet...
