What part of FL are you? I never had a problem in the Melbourne area, but a friend of mine had a problem south of Orlando area (fix-it ticket). I think if you're in a more populated area, you should play it safe.

I beleive the law states its 30% or less in the front and as dark as you want the rest, provided you have both side mirrors to see out of. I myself have limo tint the whole rear and 30% in the front plus it already had factory tint, plus I have a visor tint limo ! And I have seen total front tint, but I'm not goin there !:D

cops really dont care about your tint. if they have a reason to pull you over than they might metion it, but they wont just pull you over for tint or tinted taillights. thats just stupid.
i got pulled over the 2nd day i had my 10% done, even opened my door....all he said was "your taillights are off"....i said thanks, turned them on (which they are tinted) and he said have a great night.

    Straight from the book...

316.2953 Side windows; restrictions on sunscreening material.—A person shall not operate any motor vehicle on any public highway, road, or street on which vehicle the side wings and side windows on either side forward of or adjacent to the operator’s seat are composed of, covered by, or treated with any sunscreening material or other product or covering which has the effect of making the window nontransparent or which would alter the window’s color, increase its reflectivity, or reduce its light transmittance, except as expressly permitted by this section. A sunscreening material is authorized for such windows if, when applied to and tested on the glass of such windows on the specific motor vehicle, the material has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 25 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 28 percent in the visible light range. A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318.

For those that do not understand that jibberish, the law says 28% is the lowest you can go on side windows. Also your tint on th front windshield cannot drop below the AS1 Line. AS1 line can be found in the upper right or left of your windshield about 4" down.

As far as getting pulled over/getting ticket, it depends on who pulls you over. I personally use it as a reason to pull over vehicles, but rarely cite anyone for it.

Ways to avoid getting a ticket.

    1)Dont be an ass!
    2)Roll down your window
3)Turn on your dome light (if night)
4)Keep your hands on the wheel and dont be reaching around.
    5)Dont be an ass!

    Hope this helps

Coming from a cop....Oh yeah we do. Mostly depends on the officer. I work high drug areas, we use anything to pull a car over.

You got lucky ........... different counties have different laws here in Florida depending where you are and how they enforce it,and if you happen to drive into Alabama some towns will not let you drive any further until you've removed it from your windows ,so if you beleive they don't care you live in a dream world, and you haven't been all over my great state !!!!!

I got a tint ticket a couple of years ago and it was a fix it ticket. I removed it and they did away with the ticket. I dont know about now but thats the way it was back then.

Mine is 25% sides and 10% back and I have had no problems. I even asked the cop that I did a ride along with and she said there was no issues with my tint or my tail lights.

If you get pulled over roll your windows all the way down immediately... Problem solved

I've had 5-10% on every vehicle I have ever had and have been pulled over a bunch. Never once have they said anything about the tint. They can't tell your windows are tinted if they are down... :notsure:

I have 10% all around. I even went the extra mile and tinted the windshield to 65% (you cant tell the difference from the inside, but you cant see in the front of the vehicle. Below are pictures of mine so you can see what it actually looks like on a sunny florida day, but Ive never had a problem. I had a cop walk up to me in a mall parking lot and ask to read the windows. He laughed and his buddy came over and handed him a dollar. I guess they had a bet going on or something. They commented that it was illegal, and that it was like $125 per window and like $150 for the windshield. The cop asked to sit in the front seat, and said he was going to do it to his cruiser...

Then again, the cops don't write tickets for it that much any more here. I saw on the news that someone fought the ticket by getting his brother, a state trooper to read the tint on the day work officers cars and the majority of the interceptors he tested were illegal tint. I guess they would rather not push the issue now...but to answer your question short and simply, no, there's no problem

They care about it here in central florida, can't really speak for the rest of the state. It also states in the statue that Law Enforcement vehicles are exempt from the statue. I used to drive an unmarked with limo tint and that issue would always arise in court. The judge would always issue a friendly reminder that L.E.O. are exempt. You should also take the blue line decal off your truck if your not a l.e.o.

I can't seem to find it, but I recall SUV's and Trucks can have the back windows tinted darker, I think 5% but I could be wrong.
