I painted my lower valance today with bedliner and had an idea... Anyone use a different color for their valance? I've got a white Tacoma and thinking about painting the lower valance red. Thoughts, comments, opinions? (the one below isn't mine but I don't have a picture of mine with the painted valance yet. Photo courtesy of DWreck.)

If I did it, I'd paint the badges red also. Right now there are no other accents on the truck. I haven't seen anything like it but I'm on the fence actually for the same reason ColtsTRD mentioned, I think it will either look great or straight to ricey...

My grandpa is doing white racing stripes on his, and his truck is red. So maybe if you did a red racing stripe? If you just did the valance id say do the badges or maybe debadge and do the rockers Red linex

I think if you had some red accents... This would look cool. Excuse the super fail attempt at using PS.

Interesting... I might play off that and come up with something.

I'm not doing racing strips... There was a blue XR with white racing strips that looked pretty awesome, but I don't think racing strips belong on a 4x4.

It looks good in the black right now, but i can see how red would be nice just like how they have in houses with a "accent" wall

I had it white for almost 4 years now and the lower valance got all chewed up. I'd run through some brush before and it scratched the hell out of it and took the white paint off in some areas. Bed liner is a lot cheaper than prepping and painting it white again (plus a hell of a lot more durable).

    Thanks for the opinions guys!

I probably will leave it black, I don't have any other colors on the truck at the moment. So far it's pretty clean, just white and black. The Rustoleum Bedliner seems to work pretty well for the valance with minimal prep work. Spray the can at something else for the first few seconds because it's way too pressurized for the container and it caused runs on mine. After I got those cleaned up, it worked great and dries quickly. It should be pretty durable also, it took quite a bit to sand down the runs in the paint and I was even using an orbital sander with a very gritty pad!
