Getting around to starting the black out next weekend and I'm shoping for tires. I want to do 285's so I can leave the suspention stock for now but having a hard time finding cool tires in 285/17's that aren't a ton of money. Going to black out the stock wheels because new wheels aren't in the budget. I wanted to put General Grabber AT2's like I had on the Tacoma but again, limited 17" sizes. :goingcrazy:

maybe post up a want to trade thread. your 17's for the all terrain pkg 16's? hell,i am sure there are a few tacoma guys who would trade their 16's for some fj 17's? then snag some 285/75/16's ...which have a huge selection to choose from..
    just a thought

Eh, I'm thinking about just sucking it up and going with the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's in the 285/17. I can get them for $1165 OTD (mounted/balanced/TMPS/etc.) before the $40 rebate from Discount Tire down the street. 285's wont rub if it's stock, right?

He most definitely will have to do some plastic trimming with stock suspension.

No, I don't suppose you do. Next year.....

Well I don't do a whole lot of off road and what I do is only hunting roads (gravel and dirt) and camping and even that's few and far between these days. The only crawling I do is at the mall! :(

Anyone know anything about Hancook Dynapro MT's? Pep Boys has them but I've never heard of anyone who actually owns a set.

Well I'm over on fjcruiserforums.com right now and reading a thread on them. Seems they might be cheaper by far and just as good of a tire. Gotta do some more research.

I do not think Tom is running them, he is running something else, cant remember the brand, but it is a MT if I am not mistaken, unless he changed. But I havent heard anything bad about those tires, I was looking at them myself

I had a set on my old truck when I first got them. They were really good tires. They weren't loud on the freeway at all. I am possibly going to purchase a set again.

first I had a 3" spacer and 1.5" spacer in the rear of the Fj. Now I have fox 2.0 Coilovers set just under 3", Allpro uca's, 2" rear Allpro springs w/fox resi's.
I really like the ride. I may order 700# springs for the front so I don't have to crank the coilovers so much. some day...

I believe the Allpro fox 2.0 coilovers have 600 or 650 lb springs. I want to upgrade them to 700 lb springs to support the extra weight of the plate bumper and winch without cranking up the coilovers as much and achieving a 3" lift.
