Only 10% of Zero finance deals are approved. You have to have pristine credit which eliminates 90% of the population. Which make sense because many people cannot afford to make the payments required on a $30K truck in 3 years. Rebates usually make up for the already low rates anyway. May as well pay cash and take a rebate in lieu of the 0 percent deal.

I think if you have the cash and you are not blowing all the cash you have it's always better to have the title. I hate payment obligations on anything. Save and pay.

There are a lot of gotchas on those baiting zero deals

    Wrong thread

This thread is for those of us that would like to discuss the fuel economy we are getting from our 4.0 V6 trucks

on a 120 mile trip, I got 26 MPG out of my 2010, but average about 17-19 driving short distances, up and down a mountain.

    My 2000 w/ KM2's gets around 15-17 :pout:

You're welcome. Not saying I agree that you have no life.

By his logic you have no life due to your high post count. He has a high post count for his short time on the forum, ergo he has no life...

You Canadians and your reading comprehension

Ya know, I've read a lot of your posts and agreed with a lot of the things you've written with regards to finance. But you are wrong on this. Having this liquid assests required to pay cash for a $30k truck is immaterial. If you are offered a 0% loan, you should take it. You could invest your $30k during that 5 year period (or whatever the duration of the loan) and earn interest on your own money.

Not to mention that you have no business keeping $30k in liquid assests- especially with no mortgage and no car payment. Invest that money!

I recently read the ac/defogger thread and have started to run just the foot heat to dry the windshield. Let's see if that helps when the local stations switch to winter mix.
