if you are on a budget get Photoshop Elements (thats what I have), download the Camera Raw plugin on Adobe, and set your camera to capture RAW image files

Picked up a Tamron 10-24mm today. I know the reviews are not great, but there seem to be plenty of + reviews. I really wanted a WA and this was the only one in my budget.

Cool, yeah this is pretty much a hobby for me too and I'm relatively new to it, but yeah it'll do fine, you will like then lens for sure! A few pages back I posted a pic of the White House that I took with the 10-24, I also made a thread yesterday of a Tacoma meet, some of the pictures were with the 10-24 also if you want to check it out.

Hey guys. I been trying to sell my Tamron to some guys in my class and make it easy on them to get a pretty decent lens for cheap but none of them can come up with funds. So if someone here wants to pick it up you can for cheap. I'll take $110 shipped for it.

Tamron 70-300 4-5.6 Macro from 180-300. Comes with UV filter, both front and back caps and lens hood. It's in good shape, I've maintained it well.

Those pics are sweet! Do you remember the settings you had for the D.C photos? I'm still learning how to make the best photo.

btw are you from P.R? I did an "internship" there for college credit a while back. I use the term loosley cuz it was basically drinking and surfing.

Haha yeah I'm from PR, the picture of the White House was shot at f/11 ISO200 and 1/320 shutter speed. Try to keep f-stop above f/5.6 and ISO as low as possible as I've noticed that noise is more noticeable with this lens for some reason.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I'll be using this lens a lot for a walk around on my trip, I was pleased with my kit last year hiking, just wished I had a wider lens at the time.

Yeah I have a lot of memories from PR.

Elements will do 100% of what you need to do most of the time. It's a great value.

Its kind of weird but I find it easier and faster to make basic design in macromedia flash although its not the main purpose of that program and I finish it off in Corel Paint Shop Pro

btw if you need any help lmk.

I think the student edition is the same as the consumer version.

Elements comes with a lot of cameras. Maybe someone has a version for you?

In the realm of editing, there's nothing that's 100% "right". Better to learn to use the tools you have and upgrade only when there's a clear need to do so.
