Ok..so i know there are numerous threads on driveline problems on this site. They helped me narrow down my problem. However, i recently noticed a vibration in the floor board diver side I figured it was a bad u-joint but when i got under the truck i noticed that the carrier bearing had play to it. Now i have already purchased the new cb and im about to install it. I would like to know that if this problem combined with an under greased driveline, as well as worn out leafs (bad axel wrap) could cause the transmission to shift hard. Only shifts hard from 1st to 2nd gear when under a load. Doesn't do it all the time maybe 70% of the time. Im praying its not the transmission:eek:...Will update how it feels with new CB..

I see you have a 3-inch spacer lift with blocks in the rear? You have many opportuntites for problem factors there.
The block in back will make normally bad axle wrap far worse. Yes, grease the dirve line to stop any binding. But I'll bet you have other issues.

Are you 4x2 or 4x4, and if 4x4, does the vibration only happen when engaged?
3-inch spacer lift on the front?!? Worn out suspension components, bad CVs come to mind.

It is hard to tell with so many potential issues. Start trouble shooting each.

I recently changed my CB and when doing so i noticed one of my U joints was so bad it was jambed in one direction which caused my CB to destroy itself. I would just change out your mid and rear U-joints since you have to take out the driveshaft anyways.

I still get a slight vibration from 0-10mph but i think thats caused by my crappy 3-leaf pack that likes to bottom out a lot. Some ride-rites will fix this problem soon.

yeah well the spacer lift is going to go as soon as i save up for the adjustable coilovers. And with the blocks i knew it would intensify the worn out leaf springs (will replace soon). the spacer lift didnt quite equal three inches (front) which is good beacause the angle of my cv's is still fairly mild. this kind of makes me think it wouldnt be the front diff. but what about the tranny!?! that is my biggest worry i thought they were more or less bulletproof. could this combo of problems cause hard shifting?? i noticed the shifters flex when under heavy acceleration but i figured that was just from the eurathane mounts..i will know a little more after i install the new CB..thanks for your thoughts!

Installed the new CB last night. Did not fix the vibration in the floor board, if anything it intensified it. Can anyone tell me the correct torque specs for the flange bolts? I'm convinced the vibe is simply because of the blocks. She's going back to stock height until I can afford the right equipment. The u joints seemed to still be fine. Any thoughts on what the vibration could be? I need help!
