Just tint and ppl for now.
Yea, Its tight under the hood for that monster and all the stuff attached to it. Behind the back seat on the drivers side is a good option. You could make a hole in the cab with a rubber boot to get the wires and air hose through. Or, You just need to route the wires and air hose up through the fire wall. I would vote for the ladder. Just check the blue line that comes with the diff to be sure its long enough.

Niiiice! You will be so happy wheeling it. Did you have any mods from the other truck that going to the new? What made you switch?

Great build thread! One of the best I've seen on here IMO, gotta be in top 3 at least. Without any man rule violating, I'd say you're generating a shitload of mod envy here and the parts people should be cutting some commission checks! :D Carry on...and keep the pics coming & congrats on the family mod.

My sliders were welded on so they stayed with the truck, I'm selling my ome kit and LR UCA's but keeping my wheels. I've already ordered icon coilovers, the 2.5 rear icons, AP 3" standard leafs,TC UCA's, front and rear timbrens, cbi rear and sliders, and relentless front. My and my truck will be spending some quality time together:D

Wow! Thank you. Really kind words. I have a few more mods that I am doing this week. I hope to have done by the end of the weekend or else the Mother of the family mod will be real angry..:mad::mad:

Nice dude. The new setup is going to be great. I cant wait to hear more about it in the build. You now have a locked rear too!

I just picked up some 2.5" standard travel Fox shocks last week. I hope to have them apart before the weekend to extend the travel. I also bought some limit strap harware.... got clevis mounts and will be welding the brackets to the frame. Needs to be done this weekend though.... grrr I hate time constraints. :(

Yea I'm curious about the straps too.. might be a good solution to topping out the shocks.

And I decided to just return the compressor and get the one you have. no sense dealing with the headache when this one will fit better. plus I'll get almost $300 back :D

Our suspension tops out at full droop. When I hit a pot hole or speed bump you hear and feel the shock reach full extension and hit the inside of the of the shock.

Yes, the limit straps will prevent top out of the shock and also prevent ball joint binding. I think they will really help me dial in the down travel of the shock.

With my set-up, I got the regular travel fox shocks and lifted the truck 3" leaving little droop... 1.5" or so at the wheel....75" on the shock. You can top the shock out pretty quickly with that little droop limit. I am pulling the shock apart tonight to take the spacer out to make them extended travel. A little birdie told me there is a 1/2" spacer in there that prevents them from being extended travel. So, thats coming out tonight. That will give me more down travel but I still want to prevent the shock from topping out with the limit straps. I think I may also drop the lift to around 2.75" or less to get even more out of the shock.

The Icons come with rubber top out spacers inside the shock which prevents you from hearing the slap. The Walker Evans have that too I believe. Fox does not.... thats why you hear the slap in them. Fox claims its ok to hear it... I don't believe any topping out of the shock will be good in the long run. Thats me though. So, thats where the limit straps come into play.

So, I took the FOX 2.5's apart to extend the travel this past weekend. Fairly simple straight forward job. I followed this link to take them apart and put back together. The one thats taken apart in that link are 2.0's but are very similar.

I pulled the springs off with a spring compressor and

Discharged the Reservoir and took the cap out. There was less than 100 psi in each reservoir. WTF FOX!!! Apparently, this is common with not only FOX. So, check your pressure!

measured the depth of the IFP
    [IMG]

Put the shock body on the bench vise.

Pulled the bearing cap on the shock body
    [IMG]

Removed the piston from the shock body
    [IMG]

I then removed the top nut from the shaft, pulled the piston, valves and spacer out.

My friend has a bridgeport so, we milled down the spacer to .415"

I then installed the shorter spacer back in place, dropped the shaft with piston back into the body, bleed all the air, installed the bearing cap, put the spring on and charged the reservoir with the correct 200psi.

    Rides really nice!

Yes. 200psi for the front. Not sure about the rear. Check them with a gauge. Would love to see whats in yours.

worth checking. WOrth checking once a year too.

Rebuild will be a breeze. lol the hardest part is removing the springs.

    Thanks dude!

yea. dont want to use a bike pump. :p You need a screw on high pressure gauge. Even they loose a a tiny bit of pressure. Less than 2psi.

You can get the reservoir filled for $20 if needed.

I doubt DSM checks the pressure coming from FOX. Who knows though.

    cool sounds good :D
compressor should be here tomorrow..

and no leaks so it looks like i did a good job. I was wondering if I should change the diff oil again after a few hundred miles or something and use some royal purple instead of mobil 1. I used more than 3 1/2 quarts, so I'd like to park on a more level surface and check it again.

There ya go. The fox gauge is pretty fancy. 70 buck though.

Awesome! glad it worked out so far. Let me know if you have any questions about the compressor wiring and air.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you replaced your Walker Evans to the Fox because they were topping out at full suspension droop?

That might be what I am hearing then.
