it could just be coincidence, but i only started having the vsc act up a week after having the pedal recall done. what do you guy's think? maybe when they reflashed the ecu, it made the vsc more sensitive. anyone noticed that too?

I personally think that it does have something to do with the reflash , my VSC intervention issue started the day after the tranny reflash , when my truck was still on stock suspension .

I live on a small island with one main road to town , I had travelled this same stretch of road back and forth at least 500 never once having the VSC kick on , the day after the reflash it kick on in the same two right hand corners 30% of the time I went through them .

My VSC works great. It has saved me twice. :) My truck is not lifted yet and I don't have any problems. VSC does kick in whenever there is a rough patch of road and the tire leaves the pavement and especially when taking a corner too fast.

I read some technical notes on the Tranny reflash, and the brake override ECU reflash and it made no mention of adjusting the default factory VSC engagement thresholds. However, it's entirely possible there were some updated values that were reprogrammed in.

I still have plans to implement a locker engagement switch which basically tricks the 4WD ECU into thinking the locker is engaged and by doing so, it disables VSC and ABS. I'm going to make a toggle switch for it.

I have the same problem with my 2011 Tacoma. 3" lift with 285/75-16 Toyo M/T's and custom wheels with 4.5" set back. Dangerous results with strong asymmetrical front braking on 40 mph corners, smooth paved road. Had toyota dealer do alignment and zero point calibration. Did not fix the problem. Changed to 285/75-16 Toyo A/T's - still does it. Changed to 265/75-16 Toyo A/T's on stock rims -- still does it! Have you found a solution. I am ready to remove the lift kit... bummer.

I have the same issue, it's quite dangerous and I would love to find a fix. I have 285/75/16 and fox RR set to 2". It is really bad when I have two dirtbikes in back, as they create a lot more body roll. I had the dealer recalibrate my VSC and it didn't help any, still goes off and tries to kill me...

When I am turning left at about 40 MPH it pulls right forcefully - when turning right it pulls left... into oncoming traffic. My lift is a Toytec ultimate lift kit set at 3 inches. Toytec listens but has no solutions and claims they have never heard of this problem with their lift kits.

Do you get the beeping and pulsation in the brake pedal ?

Yes, beeping noise plus ABS activation (pulsing brake) plus Slip Indicator light (car with swerve lines below it) blinks.

What year and model is your Tacoma? I am trying to find out if this issue is just with 2011 or other years also.

And now I got this prob after lift and bigger tires.

33" A/T tires, 2.7" front lift (ideal, haven't measured yet), TSB + AAL rear.

I get VSC, ABS go off on safe continuous turns (beeping). Commute to work is two way through hills...today I felt like it dragged me into the other side...not cool. Heard it couple times these few days but today one turn kinda scared me in the possibilities.

I think I want to disable it, haven't had a time where I've felt 'saved' with it.

How do all you LT/35"/big lift/etc. Tacoma's not have bigger issues with this? Prolly cause they yank all these off :p

In my experience re-calibrating the VSC is a waste of time and money. Nothing changed except money out and Toyota service shrug. So I now know what corners to expect the stupid thing to come on and live with it until someone can explain carefully how to disable the YAW sensor and or install a kill switch that you do not have to push and hold each time you turn your key etc.
Just a switch that is either on or off or tripped by the ingnition key so you don't have to think about it.

I think that the YAW sensor is bundled with some other stuff so not sure you can just disable it by itself but would like to know.

31" tires with a 1" lift, nothing major, it is a truck I think.:)

    Hmm

The recalibration improved my situation quite a bit

I'm having problems with this myself... had it reset and calibrated at the dealership with no results. I'm now driving around with it turned off.

I really would like my traction control for winter... any word if that Tundra fix works for a Taco yet?

Edit: Decided I would give calibrating it myself a shot. Went out to a parking lot near the house and tried re-calibrating with the jumper wire. Seems to be a hell of a lot better now actually... although I only took a short drive. I'll post again in a couple days whether it happens again or not, but the jumper wire method seemed to have worked. I guess they didn't calibrate it at the dealership after all.

Please do update us on this. I just found this thread and am having the same problem as you guys. I have a 2010 LB DblCab. Just did a 3" lift and the damn VSC kicks in every time I drive up or down my road to work. Stupid system does try to kill you. I need a fix, cuz my wife will freak if this happens to her.

If this jumper-wire method has any positive effect, please do a small write-up
