Ok guys I bought a Tacoma about 5 months ago and iv been trying for the life of me figure out all that has been done to it because the kid who owned it before me knew nothing about it.

Basically all I can tell so far is that it for sure has a 3" body lift so it makes it a little bit harder than just thinking "well is it taller"... It has Fabtech racing coilovers in the front that have the markings 2100 on the coil spring. The back looks stock to me but the overload spring says "hecho en Mexico" and I put rancho 5100's back there and they fit fine.

Basically is there a standard way to tell or is it just basically by a trained eye who has experience with a suspension lift?

Also I'm happy to say I just ordered some KMC enduros and 31" BFG A/T KO so I'll post some pics when there strapped up
Thanks in advance for your help dudes!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Pics would help. It's kind of a trained eye thing. If you are familiar with basic lifting designs, then you know what to look for versus stock. If you had a stock truck for comparison you could go that route too. This for that, if you will.

you have a spacer lift in the front for sure, and the rear looks stock based on the number and angle of the leaf springs

So what does a spacer up front do? My truck looks level and not raked up in the front.

And from looking at the Fabtech website the shocks come with that spacer, it's apart of the shock. Also it states that the shock gives a 2.5 inch lift..maybe that's because of the spacer??

yes the spacer ontop is what is adding the lift to your truck. . stock trucks come raked down in the front so that leveled it out basically and then your body lift lifted everything another 3".

Have you had someone look at taking the BL off? or were you going to do it yourself? might be a hard/annoying job.

Any chance of a shackle lift in back? That looks like a pretty big spacer up front. If it's a full 2.5 inches of lift there should be a lean if the rear is completely stock.

There is for sure a body lift. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1316716754.880946.jpg

And yeah I plan on removing the body lift myself. With the help of 2 jacks, 2 friends and a case of beer.

I have an entire thread on body lift removal. It's gonna be tedious deffanitly gonna be frustrating and potentially take 2 days but is all gonna be worth it. Body lifts are retarded.

Yep, definitely see it now. You've also got extra leafs in there. You've got a combination body/suspension lift.

Really? Is that a drop down shackle i have or is that stock? Which one is the extra leaf? How can i tell how much suspension lift i have? And does anyone know if these Fabtech coilovers can be rebuilt? My front tires are wearing on the insides and I don't want to ruin my new tires I just ordered. I'm replacing the ball joints and tie rod ends so I will be getting an alignment as well but iv heard bad shocks can cause inside tire wear. Plus they ride like a shit sandwich and squeak like a rusty bucket going over the slightest bump lol.

And thanks everyone for helping me figure out this lift.

The one above the overload (big bottom one) is an AAL (Add-A-Leaf). It's probably giving you 1.5-2" of lift. From what I see the shackles look stock.

I'd say you have 1.5" in the rear and 2.5" up front.

They may ride like shit because of the spacer. That's a common issue with spacer lifts.

Looks like stock leafs plus AAL, which is the bottom skinny one sticking out an an angle and not inside the retaining clip like the top three.

    The shackle looks stock.

    Spacer lifts cause shitty ride.

I would think it is your alignment, probably excessive camber, is causing bad tire wear. Shock absorbers just...absorb shocks, they don't change alignment geometry.

The stock suspension without mods wears out pretty fast, too.

How do you use your truck? What is your budget? We can help you spend all your money on new, better stuff.
