Just a bought a complete custom replacement billet grille from billet-grilles.com.

I like the look of the grille, and I think it's better than cutting the stock plastic to do a mod. Has anyone bought this before? Do you like it?

I should get it in a couple days and will post pics. cant wait haha

Haven't seen these around here, please post pics/reviews. Kudos for not going satoshi like everyone and their mother.

Yea thanks I think its better to just replace it rather than cut the stock one.. It seems like the structural integrity of the satoshi is comprised, most of the people I see with the satoshi just use 4 screws and epoxy.. I would rather have something stronger that can take a hit.. This way I can sell it stock and keep the grille too.. Hopefully this one is made well. I'm expecting better than stock.. Says it comes with a year warranty also

A hit? Doesn't matter what grill you have, it's going to crumble on a front end collision... That's what the absorb-er behind the bumper is for...

haha.. no, if you're in a front end collision it doesn't matter what kind of grille it is.. I'm saying neighbor kids bouncing a basketball, throwing a baseball ball, a bird flying across the road, a rock. If you cut out your plastic and glue something in behind it (satoshi) I don't think it can take anything more than a heavy tap.

Okay so I got my new billet grille yesterday. Right on time with the ups tracking. First impression, I liked it, seems like decent quality. Fit right into the stock clips.

*[just a tip if you pull out the old grille make sure to keep your finger on the black clips when you pull each one out. I didnt and it got lost in my engine. 15min later I found it underneath on my skid plate.]

My only negative thoughts about it, when I got it the rubber weatherstrip on the top was stuck to the outside edge instead of the groove on the inside, so when I first closed the hood big chunks of rubber were sticking out. easy fix I pulled off the rubber off and stuck it back in place in the groove.

also you cant really see it in the picture, but the back edges of the grille are not cut very smoothly, but Im going to take sandpaper and smooth them out.

Overall Im very happy, and I no longer have a toyota or tacoma logo on my truck. Mission accomplished lol

    ill give it a 7.8/10

No, an aftermarket grille makes the front end of a truck invincible. All vehicle owners should buy one. In fact, why does the factory not install these unbreakable grille front ends to begin with.. It just doesn't make sense..

If you're still reading this I assume you have at least a second grade level of education.. so go back and start over.

    I already responded.

    Thanks

i paid 350 cad for the grille and 125 for the bumper insert. its made of billet aluminum the same stuff t-rex uses and the bars are painted black except for the part you see. i will pull out my camera and snap a pick this weekend. i goto school and dont really have much time in between work/school. this weekend i will take a better pic.

i know people hate chrome. i dont mind it. my eyelids are putco and i paid 80 dollars for them and i couldnt get the trex eyelids for under 150 colormatched. once i have funds im getting my stuff color matched

That's cool man I just say good choice deciding to replace the grille rather than cutting up the stock one. Then if you ever decide to sell the truck you can return it to stock if someone doesn't like it. Or just sell it separate and get a couple extra bucks. Don't forget any aftermarket upgrades especially cosmetic, don't add value to a vehicle.. so you basically loose all the money you spend on it..

I just got a new one because I don't want all the logos on my truck. I don't mind the chrome either, I think it matches well.

I don't plan on selling me vehicle for a while. And I know that it doesn't add value. Doing it right the first time since 1990! I don't usually buy something that I don't like but that grille was a must have for me.
