Gay's in the Military, What the troops think about Civilians making that decision.

I think that it ok for them gays to be there, if they want to fight and die along with you and for us why not? they are just as American as any American just gay lol im neither gay or homophobic ,it doesnt seem like a hard concept for people to understand but yet it is. just my 2 cents

The average gay person that you don't really know is gay is not the problem and thats why don't ask don't tell was not that bad. a large amount of Gays will for sure get some kind of special treatment just like the majority of women do in the military. There at some point in time are going to be some unapologetic flaming homos who don't take shit from anybody and some poor basterd is going to be forced to bunk up with him. Gay recruitment numbers are going to be through the roof. If you could truly treat homosexuals the same way you could treat a regular person things would work out just fine but due to political correctness and hate speech laws we have to put up with bizarre anti-social behaver. Some gay people are just freaking Weirdos hiding behind there sexuality. I am just glad I am no longer in the military so I don't have to put up with the B.S. anymore

 

Well if you believe and follow the bible, yes. But you have to be without sin yourself in order to do so, but doing so will be a sin, even though god told you to do so, and so you're going to hell for listening to god... I wonder if christians ever stop to think maybe god put gays on earth to see how these "good people" would treat someone different...

I may not be 100% about this since I'm not gay, but I am pretty sure it is just like being straight, where you are what you are 100% of the time. They can't go "oh I'm in the military so I'll just turn my gay off". We're not talking about letting them have sex with straight or homosexual soldiers here, we're talking about them serving their country without having to worry about accidentally saying something and getting kicked out. Its not the gays serving that is the problem, it is people like you unable to differentiate between the two.

Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own head". The same chapter says we can't eat shrimp, lobster, or pork, but we get to ignore that part because god didn't know how tasty those were when he said it.

Did this need to happen? Yes, but I really think that we have bigger issues in the US right now and this is more or less just an act of publicity. US needs to get its shit in order and prioritize what issues need to be worked out first. But I guess knowing the guy fighting next to you is gay is way more important.

I worked in the mines for years.....were there some gay guys? 1 that I knew....knew for a long time before we worked in the mines. He was a leadman.....respected by his men...and did a hell of a job. Did anyone know he was gay? None that I know of.
Did we all shower in the same showers with him after work in the change room? Yup
Was I scared of him looking at me or fucking me?? HELL NO....this ain't fucking prison!

Good thing this didn't require anything to be worked out first and it didn't take any time, I doubt gays think it isn't a big issue.

There may be bigger issues but I have no confidence or expectation that the government can work them out. Getting all the troops home would be a good start.

Listen, I'm normally a very tolerant guy. I can accept everyone's opinion and be respectful of his or her viewpoint. I've made my feelings clear on this forum that although I may have religious differences with homosexuality, I am OK with gays serving in the military. I am perfectly fine with them and I would never think to treat them any differently, or insult them in any way. We are ALL imperfect humans.

That being said, you could show a bit of respect too. Just because you find Christianity distasteful, corrupt, fantastical or whatever, is no excuse for being immature and posting a depiction of Christ like you did above. It's not funny and frankly in poor taste, regardless of your personal feelings on the matter. We can joke with each other here and give one another a hard time; that picture, however, comes across as not only offensive but truly insensitive. Fine, you hate Christianity... but do you also hate Christians? I hope not as many on this forum are. Just as Christians here should not hate gays--as I don't as I Christian--we should love them as fellow human beings.

As I stated clearly in my post late last night, let's have this debate but please show a bit of restraint when you feel you must insult someone on this forum. This goes for both sides of the argument. I mean that. Both sides have gone a bit too far at times.

I understand very clearly this is the internet and you have every right to make whatever condemnation you feel is necessary. But please remember that some statements and portrayals are really a bit over the top--again, ON EITHER SIDE OF THE DEBATE--and does nothing to further the discussion. For the record, I'm just as offended by Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc, that whip out religious verses as if they were playing cards in a game of poker.

To be honest, we can all believe what we want in this life but none of us will truly know what, if anything, lies on the other side until death finally comes knocking on our door.

I hope you understand where I am coming from.
