Thats what I got lol and what the above pictures were taken with, also used to kit lens on them too. But like Ian was saying a good telephoto lens will help you as well.

Hey! I've got the same camera since October of last year..the Rebel XS 1000D series or w/e but I just recently purchased a new lens as the 18 - 55 mm wasn't enough distance for me. I purchase the 55 - 250 mm as I believe it is the best bang for the buck when it comes to budget/quality wise for us beginners. Sure, it's not their best lens but I will work for now and it would have been a great feature to have at the game you attended to.

Check your local craigslist as I found mine for $150.

it is definitely the balls, here is a link to a flickr album (dont want to take up too much space here) with a lot more, some of them ended up better than others (none are edited, there may be one though, i dont know if i saved it)

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/61421251@N05/?saved=1

this one is my favorite Image 0245 is my favorite because i got the full triangle before the break, though i like the one that i posted for other reasons

some are break shots which i like the best

it was because they were doing cosmic bowling so it was really dark

Just ordered a D3100 body to replace my old D100! The maples, aspens, and oaks are starting to change around here. I hope I can get some good shots.

thats the key haha. that means he did what he was trying to and give the illusion that it is miniature which i think he did very well.

here are some photos of my friend dirt jumping...they destroyed the jumps but we kind of rebuilt one for him to hit. it was his first time.
