Who made you the great decider! What do you care if someone is gay, black, asian, etc and they do not hurt you. Are you mother Teresa doing good deeds all day long. By the way, when you croak you will not go to heaven. Religion is the ultimate power play which preys on noobs inability to fathom that when death occurs there is nothing.

It is extremely depressing to see that our "free" country still has this kind of hate in it. People should be able to love who ever else they chose to. Preform any job they chose and train for. Comparing homosexuality to race is one in the same. People are hated and killed for both things. We got over one, when will we as a country get over the next?

Sure that problem will be solved, but you're thinking small scale. There will still be problems. Why not kill everyone who has a different religion, skin color, diseases, obesity, genetic mutations, and differing opinions?

PS: I am sorry I helped steer this thread towards religion, but I think it was heading there eventually anyways since in my limited research those who really oppose gays tend to do so on a religious basis.

Homosexuality is not the same as race. People choose to engage in homosexual acts no matter how inclined toward them they are. People do not choose race and race is only a certain set of physical characteristics people associate with a certain group.

People have a lot of valid and not so valid reasons to not want homosexuals in the military. The fact is that its done and over and there is no going back so the military will just have to deal with the issues as they come and there will be issues

I have the right to my opinion just as much as you do. Christianity is the biggest joke on mankind in history. Used by powerful rulers to keep the sheep in line. I hope you understand where I am coming from.

I am entitled to my opinion. If you do not like it, then too bad. I don't like a lot of opinions, including yours, but I am not going to whine about it in an eloquent manner.

I will agree that they have basterdized the teachings of christ against the sheep but the teaching are still good and have done alot of good too.

The new "biggest joke" keeping the sheeple in line is science and the news! Its so funny how the current sheeple make fun of the people who used to be the sheeple..

ericb: Sir, you certainly have a right to your opinion and to also share it--that was never in doubt and stifling it was not my request. My remarks were even-handed and respectful. I feel sorry that you failed to pick up on my point.

Well, in my opinion, you have quite a bit to learn about how to voice your own opinion, listen to someone else's, and in doing so, still treat other people's belief systems and ideas with a little bit of respect.

In my life experience, I believe it will serve you well rather than being unnecessarily insulting and inflammatory, which is the the oft-used defense mechanism of the ignorant.

Your opinion is duly noted and will not sway mine. If it is insulting to you, then apparently your die hard christian beliefs are hypocritical as I know they teach tolerance. Just proves my point. But to each his own.

Sir, I'm not attempting to sway your opinion; again, you have missed my point. This is about showing a modicum of respect for other's opinions and beliefs while engaged in a civil conversation or discussion. This practice goes a long way when getting those of differing opinions to listen to your own.

I also think you are conveniently equating my Christian "tolerance" with indifference. I may be tolerant of your opinion; I however, am under no obligation as a Christian to remain indifferent to demonstrated hatred, which seems to me how you regard those whose beliefs center around a Christian faith.

Now, so we don't take too much time with other's enjoyment of this thread, I'm going to PM you my phone number and address immediately. Please feel free to give me a call or let's arrange a time to get together for a coffee (your info does not indicate what earthly geographic area you currently reside). We can discuss this further at that time.

Looking back now, I wish that I had defended the kid. I was a PFC, and these guys were 2 corporals and an E5. I figured that it was already a travesty, no sense making it a massacre, I guess.
I understand where you're coming from, though.

At no time did I demonstrate hate. I just disagree completely with christianity as a whole and truly find it a disturbing joke and I was pretty much straight forward and honest about it. That photo pretty much sums up christianity. I have zero interest in meeting or hanging out with anyone that finds my views disturbing and wishes to try and convert me like some jehova witness.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
there is a separate religion thread for this stuff...

unfortunately people do bring that into their judging of other people to think they are better and another human deserves less than they receive.

Sorry about that, bottom line is gay or straight, if we are in a life threatening situation, and you do your job.... get your fellow soldiers back, and we get home alive..... I don't care what way you swing. Regardless of what some book says.
