Rumors say (on ESPN Sportscenter)- Mizzou to join SEC as 14th team.

Auburn would move to the SEC-East and Texas A&M and Mizzou would be in the SEC-West.

The SEC is DENYING this report, but IMO, if we have to expand, that's a pretty good deal. Competitive football, basketball, softball and soccer teams that I am aware of.

Interesting side note: there would be 3 teams that with a Tiger for a mascot in the conference if this goes through.

I hope for Mizzou's sake these are just rumors. They fit better into the Big East or Big Ten. ISU, Mizzou, Kansas, and Kansas State need to get a conversation going with the Big East.

Cable Guy/Dan Whitney has a house about 2 miles east of Lincoln, He has season tickets / has a skybox in the North Stadium. He frequently throws free stuff out to people below him. He also is a huge booster and somehow got Osborne to let him do a comedy show on the field in 2009. Cable Guy's mom lives in Lincoln and is a neighbor/ friend of my Grandma's.

I agree. Its strange, but lets just say that in a few years there are 4 or 5 16 to 20 team confrences. What happens with basketball (mens and womens), soccer, baseball, softball, swim, water polo, track and field, Volleyball and all the other D1 sports?

I'm sure it will change down the road. I'm glad it's not going any farther now. Basketball would benefit for us playing those better teams so we can get farther than we have been (final 4 maybe...?) and baseball would be kickass.

That is partially why I got tired of the NFL, a bunch of show boaters, cry babies and all about money. Yes this will change some rivalry's and who know's what else, but the players should still be the same, playing for the love of the game and trying to make it to the cry baby league.

Oh yeah, I saw that show on tv, forgot about it. I knew there was more reason that I believed he was indeed a Corn Husker fan.

Morgantown requires couches be removed from porches before LSU game

    http://www.dailymail.com/News/201109213245
MORGANTOWN - City officials will remove furniture and other flammable items from porches and lawns this week in an effort to combat celebratory fires following the nationally televised football game this weekend.

The abatement effort, which covers much of downtown Morgantown and will be effective Thursday through Monday, requires that residents remove any furniture, construction materials, debris and other combustible materials from porches, balconies or lawns.

According to an email sent to students at West Virginia University, "Listed materials found on Thursday morning will be revoked and taken to the city garage, where only the salvageable furniture will be held for five working days."

Residents of properties who choose not to comply will be subject to misdemeanor citations with possible fines ranging from $100 to $1,000.

The Morgantown Fire Department hopes that this weekend's abatement will reduce the number of intentionally lit fires, a problem that Morgantown often deals with during times of celebration.

"We know we're going to have fires, but they aren't going to be as bad," said Fire Department Chief Mark Caravasos.

WVU junior Mark Kookan, who lives in an area covered in the abatement, doesn't believe it will keep people from intentionally lighting fires after the game.

"I just can't see it putting a stop to people's desire to burn," Kookan said. "It might hide things to burn, but I feel that if I see someone burning something, I want to be a part of that."

Just got back from a week in Texas. People there are sure as hell proud of where they're from. If I heard "We're the only state that can fly our flag as high as the US flag" or "We're the only state that has the right to succeed from the US" or "We're the only state that was a nation first" one more time, I was going to vomit. It's worse b/c NONE of those things are true.

Don't get me wrong... They were plenty nice.... Just full of where they lived.

Really enjoyed wearing my Alabama hat, though.

And to make this a football related post... While I was there I came across this stat: Outside the UT/OU game, the Big 12 has has just 9 matchups of top-10 teams IN ITS HISTORY. Nine of Alabama's past 32 games have been match ups b/w top 10 teams.

    Seriously dude?

I'm not saying we are going to win, but damn, we have just a good a chance as you do. No mistakes for us, a few mistakes for you guys, we win. Both teams play a perfect game, you guys probably win.

Night game, in Motown, and you dont think we have a chance?

Auburn came in a few years ago thinking the same thing. Ask them what happened.

You guys have a great team, no doubt about it. But this is going to be a MUCh better game than the Oregon game you guys won.

Kris77, you will find this forum to be very slanted towards the SEC, just look at the posts. Take what you hear on here with a grain of salt.
Wish we still played yall for the Black Diamond trophy!!! Good Luck this weekend.
