So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Replaced mine on Tuesday. 36,727 miles. Those were the worst tire I've ever had. I'm surprised I never wrecked in the winter. I had 2/32 left on the tread. The stock Dunlop POSs.
Put on Firestone Destination ATs stock size. They ride nice and I'm looking forward to winter.

Winters in CA. aren't as extreme as other parts of the country. In the San Francisco bay area it doesn't snow at lower elevations. Besides rain we don't get the really bad weather that other places get. Stock Dunlops are ok for this area. It seems in more harsh weather areas the Dunlops aren't so good. That's good to know for people who might move to snowy/icy areas.

I got you beat. Got stuck in the snow at 13K miles only to discover all 4 were at the replacement marks (which is why I got stuck). Almost all highway miles.

I bought my Tacoma last August from 1st owner. The truck had 48,000 on original BF Goodrich Rugged Trails. They were not worn down to the wear bars, but were close and had cracks due to the sun. I replaced them with the same tire.

71K OUT OF THE STOCK bfg's. Still had 5/64th tread left. But I'm easy on tires, no hard turns and easy on the peddle.

Thats good to know, I frequently am in the mountains of colorado and in snow. I do have my BFG A/Ts off of my old truck to put on at some point but I might have to do that sooner than later given your comments on the winter driving on rugged trails. The BFGs were amazing on my Dakota, even better than the studded A/Ts I had on years prior to getting the BFGs.

This I probably a stupid question but does offloading wear the tires faster?

On my '07 AC, I replaced the Dunlops at 54k, with quite a bit of life left. I have the same on my '10 DCLB, but they have recently started making noise around turns and feeling like they're slipping on dirty or wet roads. They only have 14500 on them, and may not make it on the truck as long as the ones on the first truck. They have been good tires for me though, for road and snow.

I didn't get a picture of this but i wish i would've. The last winter I had the rugged fails, after parking at work I looked at all the tire tracks leading up to the other trucks in the parking lot. I could see everyones tire tracks but mine were just smooth like I had slicks on:eek:. And when I looked at my tires, they were all packed with snow and I'm not talking just between the tread, it was between the tread and about 1/2" covering the entire tire. I don't have to tell you what that does when you try to stop. I had absolutely no issue with the rugged fails in rain or dry pavement but if you see significant snow where you live, I recommend changing them asap.

I'm at 49,000 miles on the AT20s and nervously eyeing the tread depth in anticipation of winter.
