I was wondering if any one knows the difference in the Tacoma coil over springs

So there is the 3 different types off suspension(s)

    The SR5 (Stock)
    The Sport
    The TRD Off Road

I would imagine that the get progressively more stiff between the 3 What I would like
to know is the difference only the shocks or does the spring stiffness change?

I am looking for a stiffer coil over with out gaining lift. As I add more and more
to the truck I'm starting to sag. Bumper, wench and armor.

Currently I have just the basic SR5 4x4, will putting say a set of TRD off road
springs help? Or does any one know of a spring that is stiffer than stock with out gaining lift?

I was looking at the OldMan 886's, but I don't want to gain the 2.5 inches over stock.

Any input will help a lot.
    Thanks.

I'm not so sure about the correct answer that you may be looking for, however i think that most coilovers are adjustable. I have no experience with them as i have never owned a pair, in my setup i went with the 884 coils which will give you a lift and is not recommended if you plan on putting more wieght on the front.

oh i reread your post and just figured out what you are trying to achieve. i do not think that they are differant but never looked into it. however if someone else chimes in and they are indeed differant let me know as i still have my stock TRD OR ones.

I might have used the wrong wording, I guess I just mean coil springs and not coil overs.

I think a more direct question would be:

I don't want to add a lift to the front of my truck but I want to add a stiffer spring. Due to the wait of the bumper and wench
what would be a good choice?

    Thanks for the responses.

    Awesome info.

    Thanks.

Oh and the (wench), I was pulling into my drive way and mother-in law stepped out in front of my truck. Needless to say I picked the added weight of a wench.

My SR5 has the blue and yellow bilsteins and same coil springs as the TRD Off road, from the factory...maybe another difference between Cdn and US trucks....

Do some more research, but it is possible that OME 883 springs are higher spring rate but about the same length as your factory springs. (I've also seen something that said 883 springs are much longer but softer -- so be sure of your data; perhaps call Wheelers or Downsouth motorsports.
