Intake Resonator Removed

    Decided to remove the resonator today. I went to toyota and purchased a pack of ten clips ($10.00). I knew that I would destroy the old clips when I tried to pull them out. I had to fabricate a metal shield to protect the intake from possibly taking in water. On my truck I had cut the front part of the plastic fender shield off because I replaced my bumper with a plate bumper which left a unprotected area at the intake in the fender well. Still on the fence on whether it is worth it or not. I may have a slightly better throttle response. (I had previously removed the secondary filter and replaced main filter with a afe pro dry). I will test it off road and see if it makes any difference. At this point I do not really think its worth the time of removing it.

    didnt take any. was too agravated removing those pain in the ass clips toyota uses. I will try to get a pic tomorrow of at least the shield i fabricated.

    tested the truck today on the highway and some mild off road. Throttle response is definately better. Glad I removed it. If anyone is planning on doing this mod save yourself some aggravation and buy new clips so you can just yank out the old ones.

    My truck is pretty loud to begin with I have dt header and magnaflow so the only time i noticed any difference in the sound was when I laid into the pedal on the highway (about 4000-5000 rpm's)
