2012 TACOMA MEGA-THREAD

I think it looks great. I think it looks a lot better with the bumper color matched/painted though

 

There are many on this site that acutally wanted this look and modified their truck to get the black valance.

 

I just test drove a Sport Upgrade and it looked to me like the rear leaf was a 4 pack. I thought US got the 3 pack??

 

Its funny because alot of the mods people do to their 2005-11 were to correct what I think is ugly on the 2005-11 Tacos. I always thought the headlights were out of character for the entire truck. Peole do the eyelids to create a more aggressive look on the headlights instead of this wide eyed look.

I dont see anything wrong with the bumper, headlights or anything on the 2012.

Like others have said, the pictures dont capture the truck right. In person, there is nothing wrong with the appearance of the truck. To me, the 2011's are already outdated. I love the 2012 Tacoma. If my car was paid off, I would buy the Tacoma in a heartbeat. I am hoping January at this point

If you also take a look at the front end changes they made on the first generation Tacoma, they kind of follow a similar trend. Headlights got smaller and there is more detail surrounding it and so on.

Looks like 3 leafs w/ 1 overload spring.

 

I guess I was a little confused by how leaf packs are set up. so a four leaf pack I always assumed had four arched leafs, but you include the flat base at the bottom as one of the leafs? That is what I saw at on the 2012 Double Cab long bed that I posted pics of.

 

3 plus the overload is the 4 leaf or TSB pack

 

Picked up my 4x2 DCLB w/TRD Sport Today.

First impressions are that it is much more attractive in person; The cab has a great feel to it. The Entune/Nav interface isn't as user friendly as I hoped, but with practice it'll be better.

Otherwise I couldn't be happier, can't wait to put her through the paces.

good to know...I did see the TSB pack on the local 2012 then. I previously posted that it had only had a 3 leaf pack

 

Congrats! What color did you you get? I just realized the subwoofer comes only with the Entune system as well. What do you think of the subwoofer?

 

I am really not that excited about the seat covers on the TRD packages. I know several have complained about it fraying after a short while.

Katzkin leather will be in my future for sure. Are the seats on a TRD Sport the same as the SR5? Is there any hope of selling the Trd seat covers that come stock on the Sport to an SR5 owner and having it work? Or is the design of the seat different?

True, but what I'm trying to say is that the '12 looks like it has an underbite.

 

Cause I am in the U.S. I thought the leather was an option in Canada.
