Wrong. Homosexuals are born gay, it is not a choice. There are varying degrees of nature impulse so no it's not as crystal clear, but neither is race. The point is it shouldn't matter if it is the same as race, it is natural, even if it is a minority to all races.

It only seems to be unnatural when religion becomes involved.

About the picture: OK, let me throw this out at you. If someone on this thread had posted a picture of a gay man who was bloody from head to toe from being beaten by anti-gay thugs, and then had words that mocked this man's practice of homosexuality written underneath in an insulting manner, would that not have been a bit over the top and unnecessarily insensitive to gay men and women on this forum? I can tell you it would have been offensive to me and I'm not gay. It would be uncalled for and hardly civil.

Do you think that because you do not like Christians, you can not make your point without being insulting? Do you think Christians do not have their own right to defend their beliefs, or perhaps you believe we're you're on a one way street? And, at what time did I ever say I wanted to try and convert you? So, you're telling me that I can't state my own religious beliefs without you thinking I am trying to convert you? I simply stated that if you wanted to further the discussion, let's talk off-line in some manner. Frankly, I like meeting people with differing opinions and experiences--it helps me see the world from someone else's perspective once in awhile.

Sir, your comments earlier came across as patently offensive and they were laced with hatred IMO. Perhaps, earlier in life, you were wronged in some manner by a supposed Christian? I'm sorry if you were, and equally sorry if that incident has helped lead you to to your current disgust. Let me clarify that just because someone claims to be Christian does not make them so. Acting like and/or claiming to be a Christian AND actually being a Christian are not the same things. Serving Christ takes humility, discipline, devotion to His word, and above all, love for God and His children. All Christians are sinners and fallible--we are human and imperfect. I admit, their have been many past and present who have done horrible things in the name of Christianity. I appall them as much as you do. However, like all groups, their are always a few that are corrupt, if not evil. But, by and large, Christians and Christian organizations work hard to do good works for many in need throughout the world, and ask for nothing in return. I think you will find there are no more charitable a set of organizations than those that are affiliated with Christian beliefs and values.

And I believe you are right. But any true Christian knows through God's own words and what's in their heart that is simply not the case.

We should not judge them but love them unconditionally as He loves us. That is what a true follower of Christ should do.

no such words truly exist, the bible was written by men who also believed the world was flat. I'm not going to get into a religious debate, I did enough of that from kindergarten to grade 12 in the Roman Catholic school system.

Thanks for your opinion. As you've read, I believe otherwise. So which of us is right? That is a question that can't be answered factually until we find out for sure in death.

This was a gentle nudge for all parties to get off the topic of religion. There is a thread for it elsewhere.

This thread was to discuss the feelings of active duty military members about the DADT policy and the decision making process that goes with it. Let's get it on topic or it'll go the way of DADT too...

Brunes: I hear you and I agree, but as a moderator, jhodge83's last comment "unfortunately people do bring that into their judging of other people to think they are better and another human deserves less than they receive," left an open invitation for a response. Your comment, however, clearly makes the topic of religion verboten on this thread.

    Moving on as directed.

I'd say that statement cuts both ways and I appreciate the willingness to let it drop.

Are people born religious? everything is a choice. I think that its seems unnatural because they put there wieners up another mans hairy poop hole and religion just backs it up.. .. although I admittedly going against my moral consistency it seems less unnatural when I guy does it to a girl and for that matter when its girl on girl.

You can't be born into a contrived man made construct like god. You can be born with a sexual orientation that desires the same sex, the opposite sex, and somewhere in between.

Not all gay men have anal sex, if oral sex is a sin then I hope we are all going hell. :p

    Really? First I've heard that.

Seriously, I really didn't know that. I just assumed they did but then again I haven't exactly investigated it for myself. Thanks for saving me the research.

I guess you do learn new things every day.

A good friend and co-worker has a gay brother who has never had anal sex, and is repulsed by the idea. It makes sense that it's not de rigueur for the obvious reasons.

Really, the guy doesn't have anal sex with his partner!!! Hahahaha what a joke. The definition of homosexual is having sex with the member of the same sex. If he is just blowing the dude he has other issues to worry about.

You realize oral sex is sex......... no apparently not. And lesbians don't have sex either right?

Homosexual has to do with who you are attracted to, not how you have sex.
