    It's only 8.5 hours! :p

Get ahold of Eric with Relentless, he's based is Reno now so shipping or the drive wouldn't be too bad.

Checked out Relentless. About 4 bills for bolt-ons. Dang, I just don't wanna pay that kinda money for something I "may" use. I know, I know. It only takes one hit on some rock. But still, I'm only going to off-road maybe 1-2x/yr on mild trails at most.

I hear ya. In that case, look for a used set of running boards. Not the tubes but the black plastic ones. My prerunner came with em. I bounced them off a few rocks and they held up fine.

This is the best pic I have of them,

Running boards I fear wouldn't hold up, although yours seemed to work for you.

Yep, those pictures say a lot. It does only take one hit. But if I'm on a trail and I see terrain that I think I'll get hit, I'd rather take out the mountain bike or turn around. The rock sliders would be an added bonus for me then, rather than a necessity.

I'll just wait for used to show up. I just don't want to spend that kinda dough.

I've been checking my local Craiglist (Bay Area, NorCal) and here daily, multiple times a day in fact. In the last 6 months I've not seen any 2nd Gen sliders. Shucks, I need to have a buddy in Portland.

Plus shipping and costs to weld them together and make bolt-on brackets. Drives up the costs again. Thanks though.

I'm telling ya, buy those stock running boards. Something is better than nothing! Or fork out the $ for sliders before you get a $1000 body shop bill!

I'd have thought that tube/boards mounted to the body might almost be worse. If they break off leaving ripped holes in the body and then hitting the doors. This is only my thinking, not reality.

You say you've actually hit them on rocks or something and faired okay?
