So, just curious what everyone is planning to do with their $1,174 Oil Check we'll be getting. :) I wanna use portions of it to continue adding to the tacoma ofcourse. Anyone have modifications they plan to use the money for? I'm going to finally get around to buying/installing the roof rack system so i can throw my snowboard rack on top. I have a habit of stopping to/from Alyeska and other mountains and am completely paranoid of getting my board swiped from out the bed of my truck.

Contemplating 5100's all around, new leaf pack, and new coils. Anybody have suggestions on where to get these from locally? AK spring seemed to side-step my request for a new leaf pack, instead insisting on doing an AAL.

I'm looking to pay for grad school with my PFD!

But I did want to look into new leafs as well. Strangely enough, it was recommended by a friend I have that works at AK Spring... They're usually decent guys there. Not sure why they'd sidestep you on that.

I was looking to get a new grill and some custom headlights. Having a brand new truck, I don't think I need many mechanical upgrades yet.

Oh I have nothing bad to say about their service. They are great and seemed very knowledgeable. But I had them take a look at my frowning springs and they insisted on a rear "Beef Job." Which I believe is an AAL :notsure: The stock springs are very shot so I just want new aftermarket ones and an AAL for extra capacity. Just gotta drive around town and get quotes, I suppose.

I paid insurance for 6 months with mine so far. Not very "fun".

Looking at getting some new gloves though!! That's pretty exciting.

And some black decals for the Tacoma too. Decided I was going to black out everything I could. It looks really good on white.

Yea, i didn't used to like blacked out items until recently it started growing on me. I think it looks best on White vehicles. Ive contemplated the same thing.

I'm not from Alaska but I do work in the oil industry. My understanding of it is that because so much of the mineral rights and pipeline royalties are on state-owned land (rather than privately-owned), that the state gives some % of that overall revenue to the citizens of Alaska.

I'm sure someone else can clarify better.

You have to be a full time resident for 2 years to qualify for the PFD. If you are gone for more than 30 or 60 days in a year you do not qualify.

It was a savings during the big oil booms. A fantastic idea by Alaskans to let the people profit from oil.

    Too many to list now.
Let's reignite this thread! I'm putting it towards the pot of money going to a full set of trail armor and suspension upgrade. See my build for details. It's going to be a very, very good year.
