    Either he's absolutely loaded and it's one of the few pre-86 M134's in civilian hands (legally, in some states) or he's a class III dealer who is able to buy fully automatic weapons for the purpose of resale to military/law enforcement or film making.

    Pre-86 transferable machine guns pull a huge premium (that whole supply/demand thing). AR15/M16 lowers go for $15,000+. M134's go for $200,000.
