    Hahaha
The abolition of DADT opens up a lot of situations that could be driven to satisfy affirmative action while overlooking the qualifications of the individual.

You're right, sounds like those gays need all the help they can get, they don't even know how to have homosexual sex right without help from you.

In 2004 I was on my first deployment...

I remember catching a senior sailor making out with another dude in a far off locker in the hangar in the middle of the night... I laughed it off. End story.

Well, this is coming out of left field. Did you hit your head on something, Bob?

OK, listen Bob, I can see you have a lot of pent up anger and all, but what in the hell are you talking about? Did I ever claim to be in combat? NO. I never claimed anything of the sort. Did I ever claim to be a hero? NEVER. What does all this have to do with anything? I have never in my entire life claimed something or some experience that was not, in fact, reality. I have the utmost respect for all service-members--and a great deal of appreciation for combat-experienced soldiers, marines, airmen, sailors, and even coast guardsmen. Really, what the hell... are you drunk tonight? Your insinuation is that I'm a liar and dishonorable. Who in the hell do you think you are?

So Bob, do you believe my service is any less honorable than your own? Hmm, in your mind, evidently. You obviously have had a tough time with the VA--sorry, but not my problem. The VA, in my experience, has been really surprisingly good. The folks here in San Antonio are top-notch, but of course it helps if you are polite. Maybe that's your problem, Bob. If you come across to them like you are addressing me, I'd be less than responsive too. Respect cuts both ways--and it doesn't matter if you happen to think their job is beneath you as you implied with mine; you should still show a person an equal amount of respect.

BTW, just so you'll be able to get some sleep on it, I have had 4 back surgeries--all failed--and I must walk with a cane (my San Antonio Tacoma brethren can testify to this if you need further proof) 24/7; I have a permanent implant--it's called a spinal cord stimulator (do you want my implant device # as proof? I'll provide it if you need it to calm you down) implanted in my back and spine; and, to top it off, I will likely be in a wheelchair within a few years as my spinal and degenerative nerve condition is worsening daily. For your information, during my third back surgery, my neurosurgeon nicked the nerve band around C8. As a result, I have lost complete feeling in my pinky and ring fingers on both my right and left hands--they are nearly useless.

How did my condition all start? To appease your curiosity, in 1998, while stationed at Malmstrom AFB, I was riding in back of a Peacekeeper vehicle as squad leader for an Alarm Response Team in our nation's largest nuclear missile fields. The driver, a friend of mine to this day, lost control of the vehicle while driving on a gravel road. We rolled multiple times and in the process all of the occupants--I being one of four--were thrown around like rag dolls in effectively a steel drum with pointy edges. I broke my left arm, shattered my right wrist, smashed up my face/jaw, and broke my back in two places. After my year-long recovery, I was retrained to another career field--a REMF as you call it. Since then, my back has slowly declined and in spite of these surgeries and the chronic pain (and it is real pain, Bob), I have continued to make every physical req/standard that has been required of me--each time, every time. (Incidentally, all of us were injured fairly severely in that accident).

So frankly Bob, I have earned my right to retire having served honorably 20+ years, and as a veteran, my injuries--although, admittedly, not received in combat--were ultimately sustained while performing duties in defense of our nation (or did you think nuclear missiles guarded themselves?). As far as exactly how I know what my disability rating will be, I don't know for sure--yet. However, I have it on pretty good if not great authority this will be the case. I'll let you know how it turns out because I'm sure you'll be concerned.

Of course, Bob, not that you give a shit, but I appreciate YOUR service. However, your denigration of ANYONE who made the choice to serve this country in uniform, regardless of what that person's duties were, is ludicrous, insulting, and woefully immature. You dishonor the uniform and your service by making comments like that.

Let me make one more thing clear to you: You need help. I don't know what happened to you that made you have such disgust for other service members you deem as insignificant, but you need help dealing with that hostility. It might be good for your mental health and general well being to try and determine the root cause of this anger. If you don't, it will just eat you up--and that's no way to live the rest of your life.

I recommend some light yoga, meditation, and the sounds of nature... sure works to calm me down when I'm feeling a bit angry at the world like you.

In the meantime, Bob, I feel truly very sorry for you.

Well, I'm still trying to figure out why he didn't just PM me if he had a problem with me or my service??? I was like, "Where the hell is this coming from?" He evidently has an issue he needs to resolve, but taking it out on other service members who happen to work in non-combatant career fields is lunatic. I wonder if he knows that most people serving in the military will never see combat. There are very few career fields in the USAF that actually see real (EDIT: ground) combat: TACP, Pararescue, etc. All incredibly skillful combatant warriors.

And to think, I was just about to go to bed when I read his post.

    Just bizarre.
