Price is in the right ballpark but it certainly doesn't have the offroad package.

Isn't that a TRD Sport not a TRD OR?

I think in that "ballpark" you could almost get a brand new one. Don't know about your area, but they are dealing to get rid of the '11s where I live.

You could indeed. But this thing only has 13k miles on it...ain't very far from new, so ballpark indeed.

ya brand new ones are 33 around here, we tried to get them down on the price but it doesn't seem like they are going to budge. So i thought this would be the next best thing. i can't tell from the pics, but does this have the back up camera with it?

Toyota doesn't make a DCLB Tacoma with the offroad package.

The inventory looks like just another used car dealer, not that there's anything wrong with that, but they probably bought this at auction for maybe low to mid 20s. I'm sure they would try to mark it up at least 5 grand. For +/- 30 grand I would feel more comfortable buying it at a Toyota Dealership with a carfax printout and possibly an extended warranty. My dealer had a similar truck for around 28,000 but it came with a 100,000 mile warranty. "Certified Pre-Owned".

edit....I see that it has a AutoCheck, about the same as Carfax.

Is there much of a difference between the Sport and the TRD OR?

What OZ meant to say [but couldn't due to time permitting one word answers so he could hit the 30K post mark] is that TRD ORs and Sports, while the same base truck, have different functions. The Offroad is, you guessed it, meant for offroading, thereby only allowing short beds on double cabs (for better maneuverability). The Sport is not actually anymore 'sporty' in the traditional sense of providing a power/torque boost. But rather the Sport looks nicer (no chrome, all color matched, a nonfunctional hood scoop that ORs are often jealous of :p). If function matters over aesthetics, the Offroad is the way to go, so you can get the rear locker and shorter wheelbase. Otherwise the Sport looks nicer and rides smoother thanks to softer suspension.

If I had 28k for a vehicle, I'd buy new. Used is used no matter how you spin it. No telling what could have happened and how the last guy drove it. At least with a well used car you aren't gambling as much cash.
