    So tonight I was at a photography lecture and I was debating pretty much the whole time wether or not to walk out. The guy is new to the area, new to wildlife photography and new to Yellowstone. He kept mentioning, almost bragging, about how close he's been to bears, etc. and how many times the rangers in the park have warned him. :facepalm: Dumbass. I don't care that he's risking his own life by making stupid choices but he's putting the animals at risk too and that just doesn't settle well with me.

    If you need to be 15 yards from a sow and cubs to get a good picture then you're either a crappy photographer or you need a bigger lens.

    Nope - both are in the Bozeman area.


    Just spent the last hour searching for camping sites on the Beartooth highway....most of the campgrounds are already closed for the year :( But a few are still open so I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can find a site Saturday!!!

    There was a fairly good sized campground not far after Red Lodge. I wanna say 10mi or so. Its before you start the switchbacks. Not sure if its one of those that are closed though. Good luck. Take lots of pics.

    Yep, the area that is still open in about 12 miles south of Red Lodge, just before you really start climbing up the pass. There are 3 campgrounds in a row and its right next to the area that I plan on exploring so it should be pretty convenient if it all works out as planned.

    I wonder how cold its going to be down there tomorrow morning..... :rolleyes:
