    I found a dealer selling a 1999 Tacoma
4x4 SR5 Automatic with TRD Package
    Black color
    All stock
    152,000 miles
    price is $7000

Is this a good deal? Is 152000 miles too many for a 1999? How much life do you think it has left?

    Thanks

i wouldnt say its a deal but that sounds about right for dealer price.... the dealer was asking $6900 when i bought my 95' with 125000 miles, we talked them down to $4800 because of all the problems the truck had:D

nope, i wouldnt buy it! the bottoms have went out on vehicles due to the economy, i would offer the dealership, maybe 5k for it, just remind them how lousy our economy is & that vehicles just arent worth much anymore, plus its got some miles on it, not saying that 152k on a taco is bad, just trying to help lower the price, & its 10 yrs old! depends on how bad they wanna move the truck off the lot!

x2..... test drive it and make note of everything that needs fixed or replaced and anything and everything that is wrong with it.... i actually had a notebook the second time we tested it.... on this second test drive i actually rode in the passenger seat making note of everything i could find while my mom drive.... thats how i noticed that the passenger seat only had 2 bolts in it and one of which was way too long and didnt thread all the way down....... like i said they wanted 6900 and we talked them down to 4800.... get all the ammo you can..... if you find problems, price replacement parts, labor and such... that way you can say "its going to cost xxx amount just to fix this alone" you can talk them down...

like he said.... its going to come down to how bad they want to get rid of it....

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
High price indicates Excellent condition per KBB.

    Trade-in value: $3100-$3975
    Private Party: $5045-$5950
    Suggested retail: $7420

You definitely have room for some bargaining here. Keep in mind that this generation truck is getting harder and harder to come by. They are either being crushed or no body gives them up. If it were me looking at this truck, based on what you have said despite not seeing it, I would try to get it around the $5500 range settling for $5750 if I had too.

Dealer says they are firm on the $6950 price, but they have had it for a week and thought it would sell on the first day. Ill see what I can do to talk them down. Im willing to pay about 6500, but would love to get it for 6000.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
Dealers in my opinion need a reality check. I've been toying with buying a used 05' Taco 2WD 4 banger ( the small, econo-version) for a few years. The trucks sell for around $14,500-$15,000 new. Dealers here are still asking $10,000-$12,000 for them and the 10k versions usually already have over 100k on them. These trucks are now 4 years old. Come on! But I've seen them from individual sellers for as little as $8,000.

Look at it this way. There are TONS of contractors and construction guys out of work. Many want to get rid of their trucks. Look around on craigslist or some other 3rd part site. I come across one that's pretty decent occasionally.

let the dealership keep it, u will be able to find 1 for the price ur wanting to pay! do like bobwilson1977 said, check craigslist.org out, do a search for tacomas in the cars & trucks section! u will probably find something much cheaper!

Well I ended up buying the truck for $6950. The dealer has a no haggle policy. The price in the window is the price you pay. Truck had a bad pulley so they are keeping it until Monday to fix the pulley and I get to drive an 08 Subaru Impreza until the pulley is fixed for free. The cruise control is also broken on the truck and they wont fix it. They said the wiring is all good. Maybe someone here knows whats going on.
When I press the cruise on/off switch the cruise light shows up on the cluster but whenever I try to set the cruise by pushing the switch down it doesnt engage. Anyone have the same problem?

Drives nice from what I could tell in my 20 min test drive. Comes with some nice BFG Mud-Terrains. :D The Subaru is fun, but its no Tacoma. Tried to get them to give me a WRX for my trouble but they wouldn't budge. Figures. Now I need some snow to play in the Subaru.

Now someone sell me a passenger side rear black OEM fender for a 1999. The one that is on the truck is cracked. Anyone know where to get one cheap?

check the classified section! maybe u'll luck up & find 1 there, but shipping is going to be expensive on that!

    Here are some Pictures!

Anyone know if the fender flares on the truck are stock? Also the BFG All-Terrains on it have a different tread than the newer ones, did BFG recently change the tread design?

Next step are some black nerf bars and some clear headlights.
