nice pictures man i like em a lot.

really which on the ones of the mountains or the one of me and the girl?

i think that the mountains were way to dark, and the one with the girl was extremely red but thats just me.

what did you like about the original?

    Thanks

I like the Original pic with the mountains, however I would crop alot of the dead space at the bottom of the pic. I liked the silhouette that mountains made on the skyline.

Your other photo that you posted was edited pretty good

EDIT: if you are doing long exposure photos you do not have to shoot at really high ISO settings (personally I would have used ISO 800 and slowed the shutter speed way down and used a higher f stop like f/11)

Here is a little more info i added to the previous post:

ill keep that in mind i think i took that picture like a month or so after i got the camera it was a huge learning curve i had no idea what i was doing haha.

i think in that one the iso was on auto to be honest but i have no idea i can't really remember and the f stop i have no idea it was probably really low to be honest.

but thanks for all the info i feel like I'm learning a lot and slowly getting better!

A Nikon Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8d Lens work on a d3100 (read ~ DX format camera), right? Im looking at THIS one from B&H. A 35mm would be better right? How much better is the question. I dont really what to spend $200 more for a lens that is only a bit better. Im an amateur, never to become professional photographer.

    edit: B&H says:
Is this for real? If so crap...

that lens (the 50mm) will work but it will NOT auto-focus, the difference it just the focal length. A 50mm lens on a DX format camera will give you a effective focal length of about 73*. The 35mm lens was designed to give an effective focal length of about 50mm on a DX camera.

Yeah, I just left Flor-duh 3 yrs ago after a short 14 yr stint. I started in cocoa beach and moved south from there. Yeah, I love all the photo-ops out here.

Here are a few more... Something most Fl. people dont get to see... stars and the milky way, with some lightning in there too.
