Looking into tires...opinions anyone?

Well I've have some Kelly Safari Trex 245/75/16 tires on my truck for about a year now, and honestly, I want bigger. Im wanting some 265/75/16's and I was wanting some opinions on what I should get. Im not looking to get the cheapest tires, but not the most expensive either. I like the General Grabber AT2s a lot, but would like opinions. Thanks guys!

 

Everyone is going to recommend what is on their trucks.

What do you want? All Terrain? Mudders? Highway tires?

What do you drive on? Snow, ice? Mud? City driving?

Do you want a quiet ride? Do you just want it to look badass?

 

Well I do a lot of street driving, and I drive on dirt roads daily. Theres maybe 2 snows a year where I live and hardly ever much ice. I dont really care about quiet or loud, just wanna look like they have a little beef on them without lifting it and a pretty badass look as well.

Though I'm perfectly happy with Firestone Destination AT's currently on my truck, it's time for replacement and I'm considering two: Hankook Dynapro ATM if I decide to be reasonable or Goodyear Duratracs if I decide to get what I REALLY want. We'll see which side of me wins

 

Can't go wrong with the BFG A/Ts bud...its the best selling tire in the world for a reason lol

 

Personally, if you are planning on doing zero off roading, get a tire that is made for the road. It will last you longer, and stretch your dollar out. I would say no to any M/T and choose carefully on any aggressive A/T. There are nice A/T's that are geared more toward street but will give your truck an aggressive look. I was looking at goodyear triple treads for street tires, they are great running shoes. I had BFG A/T's once and they were nice hiking boots. I never had combat boots on before, but if I had to choose I'd probably go with the BFG M/T's just because they are popular and tried n true. Good luck

 

I wasnt too happy with the Rugged Trails that came stock on my truck, and i finally punctured the side wall on one of them so that gave me a reason to get new tires. I ended up getting the BFG A/T because i spend quiet a bit of time off road but it is also my daily driver. When i was looking at tires i came across a new rubber that BFG came out with. Rugged Terrain T/A. They look pretty aggressive and would do great on the road and for some light off raoding. Might be perfect for you

 

The BFG A/T is hard to beat. pretty good for light offroad and wears pretty good as well.

 

My pop runs em on his TJ and he got 54k outta his last pair.

Michelin LTX AT2's are Badass. No road noise, great gripin all weather conditions (never experienced snow though) and great grip for the occasional offroading. Had em on before my baby grew and loved them.

I've liked my General Grabber At/2's. I have about 10k on them, they haven't dissapointed me yet.

BF GR KO's. the stock rugged trails are crap, half ass half warn crap. Can't remember the coopers I put on my 1999 Tacoma but they also lasted 100K & were good off/on road tires. JUST ONE MORE TIME THE RUGGED TA'S ARE SHIT, JUST HOT MOIST POOP!!!!!!!!!! Look a good year & the rest.

 

i know its biased because its what im running on my truck but i love my nitto terra grapplers they are a great tire real smooth ride quiet decently aggresive looking for an all terrain tire and they arent too expensive
