4Runner Trail Edition Wheels

Been searching for these wheels for a while now. Finally found a good deal. Brand new wheels & tires (265/70/17), only about 50 miles on them. It came with the center caps but I'm gonna run without them for a while.

Question... is it hard to remove the TPMS from my old wheels and put em in these? Do I have to take it to a shop to do?

 

They should fit just fine. A shop will have the break the bead to install them.

ive also heard that shops have to reprogram them which is alot of $$...?

 

If they're off my old rims, would they really have to be re-programed? Their only slightly larger than my other set (265/70/17 to 265/75/17).

 

If they're off your old rims, it shouldn't be an issue.

 

Sweet. Anyone know what I should pay for someone to do this? I don't want to get ripped off.

 

All i know is, those rims should now be an option on the Tacomas because that looks great

 

What you could do is take the 4 TPMS sensors from the old rims and tires, and put them in a pressurized tube at about 32PSI, and leave it in the glove box.

 

Haha thanks. I wanted to look a little different from the 10billion other silver tacos in Hawaii, but still keep an OEM look. Pretty happy with it.

Haha that sounds good. Do I still need the shop to take the sensors out of wheel though?

I'm guessing you do. I'd try Discount/America's Tire. I've had good experiences with them helping me out.

 

Wheels are cool, I like them dump the tires when warn. Just one thing move to a place with no power lines in the front of the house. I moved just for that reason. Just my 2 worth less cents.

Haha thanks. That's the plan. I was looking for just the wheels for months, but never got a hit on CL. I got these for $500 and they only had 50miles on em. It was hard to pass that up.

Did you have a bad experience with living next to power lines? Hawaii's got these things EVERYwhere. Some of the new complex's don't have them like this, but I've never heard of it being a location deal breaker here.
