Chopped Exhaust??

I was thinking about buying the Magnaflow Off Road exhaust but I was wondering if I just chopped my stock one where it dumps it would pretty much be the same?

 

except for the magnaflow muffler part

its the same size piping

For the record, it is doing crap. It is keeping it from being crunched against the bedside when I offroad and come down of a ledge or rock.

I chopped mine cuz it crimped from a rock smashing it. I did notice a slight and I say again slight increase it sound. Looks way better not sticken out the side as well. It will not pass my safety/emissieons though but don't have to worry about that for another year.
