    I've seen them before, that could be a good idea. I just had the idea because Jermey Clarkson had 7 miles left of battery power and the nearest plug-in "Fueling" station was 34 miles away.

    their test was massively flawed however. you can plainly see the plane moving forward, meaning the treadmill was not matching the planes speed. if the treadmill matched the planes takeoff speed the plane would be stationary.

    I don't think so because if you did it with a car that would be true, but the wheels don't have anything to do with moving the plane forward it's all in the prop.

    after thinking about I will concede defeat. the wheels of the plane would just be spinning a double the normal rate while the prop pulls the plane through the air. I'd still like to see the speedo of the truck when the plane took off, they only showed the truck at 25 mph, when the typical takeoff speed of a single prop plane is 55 knots or 63 mph.
