really? i've seen hundreds of things fried in regular pots. you just pick the smallest pot for your needs and you don't have to use unnecessary amounts of oil. . . and i didn't feel like cleaning my deep fryer for this little experiment lol. it was delicious though.

 

it's a little more elaborate than that. ive been planning on the right way to do it in my head for a while, finally gave it a shot this morning. it was actually really good! but probably not something i'll make again for a long long time haha. . . and sure i'll put it in that thread sometime today.

 

sometimes at parties at my house i'll buy a fun pack of candy bars, throw them in the freezer for a few hours, take them out, dip them in funnel cake mix and toss them in the fryer. cooks that funnel cake while melting the bar inside without soaking it in oil. so it just melts but has no where to go. really delicious, but they make me sick.

 

. . . im sorry! i actually eat fairly healthy most of the time, 6'3" 170lbs, i can afford to be stupid sometime. guess i still have my high metabolism. i enjoy experimenting when i cook and this one's just been in my head a few weeks, had to try it.

I deep fried a grilled cheese sandwich once. You could say it worked, I had no interest in actually eating it when it was done though. But someone did. Also deep fried an egg (worked), slice of pizza (didn't work), and attempted a ball of mashed potatoes which in my drunk mind meant they would turn into tater tots (didn't work).

 

This contraption started it's life as a simple bicycle

Those things don't work worth dick (from my experiences). We normally use a good ole trusty Fry Daddy. Doesn't take much more oil than a pot and you use the oil multiple times. Not knocking the pot, obviously it works, I just hadn't seen it before.
