I bought some wallmart driving lights, 2 for 42 bucks and it says long distance but I might get 6 feet of light. They are more of Fog lights than long range driving light. If I did a hid conversion would that make them shine farther or just turn the little light they put out white or blue

No offence. But you bought them from walmart. Use common sense.

x2, I've found you get what you pay for with lights. An HID conversion might help some or you could end up with just a bunch of scattered light that maybe stretches 12 ft instead of 6. It's tough to say what you'll end up with when you start with cheap lights. You should look into Hella's, they're fairly cheap and when retrofitted put out a decent amount of light.

I think im gonna take them back after work and get some hellas 500ff from auto zone. Their 70 bucks, and I don't have much cash to spend but I might get them anyway.

Hella 500ff's for $70 is still cheaper than $45 Wally World lights + HID kit

Plus, the Hella's can be retrofitted with HID's down the road when you have more $$ and then you know you'll have a decent lighting set-up. Do it once and do it right!
