I saw this and was very interested in it but i was wanting to know if anyone on here had this and what they gained from it and if it is worth getting. There are reviews for it but i know that getting advice from people that have them installed on their trucks on here would help better for me to make up my mind.

Honestly, I felt a difference, I was getting horsepower differences too. I have an old dyno thread below. But it does have its limitations, My biggest issue with it is that its like an apple product. Its super easy to plug in and play and use. But if you wanna start custom tuning it, you gotta buy the UNICHIP tuning software and the UNICHIP personal tuning trainer(the one that teaches you how to use it) software.

Its a "closed" system as they say, only works with the special software from UNICHIP themselves. OR you can just find a unichip certified tuner, which is your way better and way cheaper option, if you have a tuner in your area then your good to go. None of which existed in Canada [IMG] something I neglected to check before I bought mine, which is why I'm now selling it if your interested.

I originally went the unichip route because they are meant to be fully upgradeble, and can eventually support S/C and Turbo if thats your goal. Or if you are knowledgable enough to tune it yourself, then get the software and the skies the limit for ya. Me personally I don't have enough experience with that sort of stuff. It ran perfect while I had it installed and I never had an issue.

Mine comes with the standard CAI + Cat back exhaust map, I never got mine specific tuned because there were no tuners nearby. If you get it tuned to your vehicle specifically, then you can crank another 9-13 hp out of it.

Heres my dyno threads, also just an FYI, my dyno was messed, turns out later I found out the guy who did my dyno had only used the machine once before.

Heres the 2 threads with all the info, read all of it and the comments as we figured out what happened:

the Xr-u.com one is better, more tuner guys over there:

Never heard of them, quick google search tells me these are more for domestic vehicles and You wouldn't want to install a ecu performance chip through your OBD2 port.. not really a direct link to your ecu. Most chips actually splice lines to go have the modifying values go through the chip first before going to the ecu, its like installing something in line to read and modify the values slightly.

URD MAF Cal is another chip, works amazing from all the guys I know running it. But it doesn't support boosting applications. unless you get an upgraded version called the URD PCU.

Well I was thinking $400 shipped just cause I paid almost 570$ (IIRC) when I bought it new.

Just make sure that you already have a CAI installed and a Cat-Back exhaust installed for the standard map to be most effective for you

Or, option 2, I can send it in to UNICHIP for them to reprogram for any Standard map you'd like, and they'll ship it to you after

So you could technically run both the URD and unichip? would It beneficial at all? Or better off just using one or the other.

One or the other, I suppose physically you could do both, but they'd both be fighting to change the same values and it'd probably cause engine destruction if I had to hazard a guess. THE URD MAF cal does ALMOST everything the UNICHIP can do. Changes all values minus the ability to support boost. But the URD MAF cal has to be wired and soldered into the ecu wiring, versus the UNICHIP is plug and play. You pull all the harness clips (Theres 4 of them)from your ecu, plug them into the unichip, then plug all the wire clips from the unichip into where you just unplugged everything from your ecu. Making it easily removable in case you ever want to sell the vehicle. Just swap back the harness

Figured as much. The unichip sounds the way to go honestly. Yeah its more expensive, but Its plug and play and you get more out of it.. the price difference is what.. around 300. Was gonna get new headers with the urd maf cal.. but maybe this instead?

Kinda. Wouldnt be till after the new year probably. Getting info and part numbers etc to get ready. Headers and either the MAF cal or this unichip. Will just have it mapped for the intake and headers.

Welp, once I get the for sale thread up, just sub to it and you'll know if its stil available. I figure it'll be sitting on my shelf for a few months. I'll add pics when I do that too so you'll get to see it all, has a shiny look to it too :D

Plus, I'd rather it go to someone on TW or Xr-u.com then try to sell it on ebay
