It must suck waiting for the manufacturer to put out an update. Wouldnt it be nice if 'joe dev' could get the source code and fix broken features and add new ones that the manufacturer neglects because, well, they are greedy bastards?

If you're talking about the issues with Beta7, that's really irrelevant as anybody who runs a Beta version needs to know there are more than likely going to be glitches, given that the entire purpose of a Beta is to see what happens in the real world.

I have owned every single version of the iPhone, some of them simultaneously for development purposes, and I haven't had a single issue with any of them when they were running the Final versions of iOS.

If I had such amazing products that worked so well because of strict criteria on hardware/software, I'd be greedy as hell too.

Well I am very much looking forward to iOS5. I am hoping that I can arrange photo albums on my iP4. Sick of only having camera roll. Notification Center looks sweet too!

You can do that now, just not directly from the phone. I sync my iPhone everyday and then just organize the photos into the picture folders that I have my iPhone sync with.

Haven't read through all 7 pages so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet - at least with AT&T, they've offered fee-free early upgrades with each release of the iPhone. Generally, if you've had your iPhone for at least 6-mo, you can upgrade without any ridiculous charges.

Don't expect the iPhone 5 or whatever the next one is to have 4G (if your on AT&T). We still don't have 3G yet, just fast Edge

    Bingo.

I will be waiting for it to have 4G before I upgrade. Unless of course the company decides to cover it.

Does anyone have the iPhone from VZW? What programs come on it stock? My fiance. Just got the Droid Incredible 2, VZW had all the VZ shit on there, a news and weather app, even a BlockBuster app. I'm getting tired of VZW having these programs installed on the phone that ill never use. That's one of the reason I'm thinking of jumping to the iPhone

I would fully expect it to just be an internally upgraded model of the 4...but hey, anything new from Apple is exciting!

It will also be interesting to see what the mood is like now that Jobs has taken a backseat.
