haha, well see what the estimate is, and what Jays friend may be able to do for me. the rear fender needs to be replaced, was quoted $590 plus install and paint for it. I may get a check and do everything myself. not sure yet. it could be a pretty fun project. problem is i will be gone for most of the month of october, so ill need a garage to work in, as well as some help....might hit up chris for this if he has time or is interested.

Anyone know any junk yards around that might have some body panels?

bob all you have to do is slide off the road near a tree, but if i were you i would aim to do damage only to the lower rear fender, where you would cut off for a high clearance bumper, not the entire fender and side of the truck like i did

i was looking at those. not sure how it would look on a non LT truck. ive never seen them in person and didnt want to search for a shot to see how far the stick out from the tires

would it look ridiculous just having rear fiberglass? im not sure i like the look with the bulge

The downside to the fiberglass is that you loose the bed rails.

and you can't get a high clearance bumper.

and I think you loose the tie that holds the gas tank cap to the truck.....Not really worth it unless you do a full rear LT set up.

What are your thoughts on a CBI high clearance rear?

They will stick out 4.5" over stock. and the top of the wheel well will be 3" higher than stock

I was looking at the CBI high clearance rear, but my fender is creased at the front of the fender as well, so i think it needs to be replaced. ill know more when i talk to Jays friend or another body shop.

ok, i use the bed rails, so i need that.

I don't think the stock fender flairs stick out more than 1.5 inches. So it'd still be 3" over.

IMO it would look good, but you do loose a lot of the functionality of the bed.

Plus in CO you want the truck to be as thin as possible for those tress....as you already know :p
