Filled up today. Let it run real low. 572 miles and used 20.67 gallons. 27.7 MPG's:woot:

I have pics of the odometer, and the front screen of my UltraGauge and will post as soon as I figure out my cellphone's camera. This is the best full tank fillup ever. Had one real small fill that netted 27.9 before a trip but it was all lower speed interstate. The big boost is most likely from lack of A/C use. It costs me about 2 MPG when its on all the time.

Kind of a fun thread. Let's keep it going!

Right now some gen1 2wd with highway tread is coasting down the mountain with its mirrors folded in, and, oh is that a full gas can in the bed?

I want to get an mpg post in, but I'm not doing anything but in town driving lately until elk season, then its loaded up and mountain driving. Last trip ths summer i got 24 mpg, its slipping down from last year, could be variables.

Filled up today and my reg cab 4x4 manual went 382.7 miles on 15.442 gallons, resulting in 24.78 mpg. I controlled my speed to cruising between 55-65 mph and using coasting and down shifting at lights etc. Trying to get to 25 mpg, almost there.

Yea pretty thrilled. The girlfriend doesn't understand why i drive at 60. But a few more bucks in my pocket is a few more bucks. I have an 1800 mile(900 going and 900 coming back) road trip at the end of the week. I am interested to see what happens. But most likely less because i will be cruising at 70, in the interest of time. Last time i did that trip i got 23 mpgs.

^I agree with you. I can drive 50-60 on a 25 mile commute to work. But when I go to Myrtle beach (550 miles one way) or Canada (750 miles one way), I'm usually driving 80+. (And still getting 27-28 MPG...or 24-25 doing the same thing while towing a jet ski. :D)

Not to much to learn, we're all just screwing around seeing how many miles we can get out of a tank of gas in our 4 cylinder Tacomas. Fill up yer tank, set the trip meter to zero and see how many miles you went by the time the gas warning light comes on.

I'm doing alright on my current tank. Been trying to baby it as much as possibe.

Yea...it is a big difference I used to drive a chevy astro van the best I could get out of it nursing and driving like a grandma, I got 19mpgs outta it. But when id cruise at 70-75 it would drop to 16. My 4x4 feels good driving at 70 but to me it really doesn't like to go to 80, it doesnt feel as comfortable as it should. Id like to see what my truck would do towing, just gotta find something to drag behind it.

I squeezed 19.9 out of my last tank. I've got a 4 wd and 265/75r16 all terrain tires.

    what's the 1.05 multiplier?

Synthetic fluids throughout. Increase tire pressure. Easy on the skinny pedal. Maintain momentum. New spark plugs?

    Tire size increase.

I'm at 440 miles so far, just a hair under a 1/4 tank.

Like Andrew said, I run a slightly larger than stock tire, so it throws the odo off just a tad. I run 225/75/15 instead of the OE 215/70/15 size.

I had my math whiz wife crunch the numbers.
