I was going to say no after seeing the price but the mileage killed it for me.

I know, I know.."it's a Toyota it'll run forever!"

EDIT Along with the "but the brakes pull to the passenger side when braking" .. but again I am no expert

 

I'd say about $8,500 is good around 9,000 max.

 

I say no. My truck pulls to one side when I brake and I just took it to get aligned the other day and it still pulled after the tech had it perfectly aligned. He showed me that my caster adjustment had to be cranked completely over to one setting to even get it even that close. And the tech said when it's like that it usually means the frame is bent somewhere.

I really wouldent spend that kind of money one a unsure bet. But that's just me

 

Only thing that would really worry me is the he said that he didn't replace the timing belt until 244k miles.

Yeah, I think its a little overpriced too. Just wanted some expert opinion from Tacomaworld. This one caught my eye because its a non salvaged title 1st gen double cab. The mileage is insane! I think hes gonna have a hard time finding someone to pay that much for it.

Having the engine replaced at 172k miles also is concerning.

 

He is and it is. Get it inspected by a Toyota dealer or a mechanic you trust and see what they say about it, that will be your best bet. I'd go look at it at least, do all the normal stuff like feel the motor for temp before cranking it, test drive it, etc.

Id say about 6K The brakes are no biggy. Just a stuck caliper $60 and about 15 mins its done. That is an assload of miles however.

 

I doubt it's a stuck caliper. Honestly what could be stuck? One of the piston pots? Stuck with what? Build up? Brake pressure would push through that. The Only think that i think would cause un even braking is poor hydraulic pressure to one caliper, 2 different sized front tires or a bent frame.

 

Pistions get stuck all the time and WILL create a pull to one side.

Edit: springs at a different rate can do that aswell, When the front end dips it will dip more to one side trying to turn. However the caliper is the most likely.

 

seems like an honest guy that knows his truck, but i would not buy it. the only heavily modded truck i would buy would be a hunting truck from somebody i know or something like that. . . just too many miles and too many changes/problems.

 

I'm sorry, I just buy something with that many miles even if its a Toyota. He wanted like 5k for it maybe but this dude still wants above bluebook for almost a 300k mile car.

Hey, I found another one. This one looks sweet but this guy wants $16.5K for it. I know the miles are low but damn. I can almost buy a double cab 2nd gen with slightly more miles.

I doughnut understand why people buy first gens in general... Great trucks, but expensive as shit!

Even considering paying the cost of a new yaris for a truck with 260 thousand miles on it is insane to me.
