    Rust, lots of rust
False, switching from a spacer lift to a spindle lift will definitely smooth out the ride.

How will spindles not smooth out the ride? They will lift while removing the preload on the springs therefor not giving just a hard ride.

spindles have their benifits. my solo spindles did lift my truck more than i wanted. i've taken out all the preload from the coils that i can, if i were to get longer coils i could take out ever more and lower the ride height some more.

i will pretty much never have to worry about fucking up my spindles anymore, and for us 1st gen 6 lugs... the solo spindles are the only route to go to ditch the lower ball joint, other ran running a custom spindle/kit.

the added 2" track width per side is nice too...

This is not a lift kit thread, it's a long travel thread. Two completely different animals.

The reason I ask is because I was told that with a 3" lift I might need UCA's and that instead I should get spindles and save some money with a smoother ride.

A 3" lift with UCA's is not LT. That is a 3" lift. Spindles are not LT either. Im just saying you will get better answers from people who run the things you are asking about. This is LT. Most of us here do not have lift kits. Some have spindles, but they are combining it with long travel, not 3" lifts and UCA's. I think your confusing UCA's with long travel

Edit: If you search around the link below you will find closer to what you are looking for. All kinds of questions on UCA's, 3" lift ride quality, spindles on stock susp, etc

Went out to Ocotillo with my friend last sunday. Just putted around the washes breaking in his new BTF custom LT.

Everything worked out awesome. We did however manage to crack the rear fiberglass. The rear was pushed back about 2" when the deaver 64pack was installed and he upgraded to 37" tires which caused the small tear. Otherwise, this thing hit the deepest hardest woops in ocotillo at 50mph like nothing, and honestly we probably could have blasted them at 80+ but didn't feel comfortable banging the glass any further. 18.5" front travel, 24" rear... it's insane. Kinda funny how the small pebbles and hard-pack terrain feels rougher than the big woops.

I'm not joking when I say every bro waved at us that day. This thing truck is very dramatic and a ton of fun to ride in. Thought I'd share!

That much travel, you should probably have a cage to use it to it's full potential, no?!
