Close but much more open tread pattern than rugged trails. Having a more open shoulder like the Generals will make a big difference. They actually look a little meaner in person in my opinion.

x2. Just got them yesterday and they are awesome. I think most of the A/Ts are pretty good but use the review chart on TireRack that someone else posted. I was going to do the Michelins but went with the Firestones since they had them in stock and could get me in right away.

Cooper AT3's over here also. Got a $75 mail in rebate on them also from the local shop. I've had BF AT's before on a GMC 2500 and they were good sneakers but i liked the look of the coopers, price and reviews. Went with the 265/75/16...up from 245's and what a difference.

    +1. Geolander AT-S.

I just bought a set of 265/70R17s for $586 shipped plus a $40 rebate gift card coming in the mail. Discount Tires Direct is great for service and pricing.

Now if only I can find some damn wheels that I like in stock:mad:

Ive owned three different sets of tires.
    Bridgestone Dualer Revo AT 2
    Yokohama geolander AT/S
    BFgoodrich All terrain TA KOs

I got 65k out of my BFs. 30 out of the bridgestones and somewhat over 50 on the yokos. Soo id say either BF or Yoko :)

The yoks pulled pretty good in light snow, But it seemed like they wanted to pack and turn to slicks often in wet colorado snow. i live on some pretty gnarly dirt roads and they were no problem whatsoever. My buddy had a set on his 93 Dodge ram Cummins and they rode really nice, They rode pretty good for me too so id say pretty good at being an All Terrain. I should say that the truck i just bought recently, The dealership i got it at installed The yoks on all there used trucks and apperently doesnt use any other tire brand unless stated by a customer.

I got the Hankooks for the price...their a good tire. No complaints about them! They take the sand and rocks out here pretty good. However, I won;t be buying them again because I want a more aggressive tread pattern.

If your getting the stock tire size the load rating is pretting high on the BFg All-Terrain. People says its over kill for tacoma because these are light trucks. 265/70R16 Are load range D which are 8 ply tires. The 265/65R17 are load range E 10ply tires.

I read nothing on the thread but I'm gonna tell ya BFG TA/KO. Keep the air pressure right and rotate them correctly and you can get 60k out of em

Like several others, I'd suggest the Firestone Destination A/T. No discernable road noise, a decent A/T tire offroad, and certainly one of the cheaper tires you'll find.

    Great tires.
I've had 3 sets on 3 different vehicles.
    Can't say enough about them.
