Donald Suppan. I guess That I am the net man horror story. I had just moved down to florida from N>H> and was looking forward to Gulf fishing. I had bought a boat and was already for the ocean. I had bought a cheaper extendable net due to lack of funds, but it had worked well in N.H. I hooked onto a large fish the first time out. As I brought it closer to the boat I saw it was a large redfish. It had to be at least 3.5 foot long, and it was the first I had ever hooked. I got it to the side of the boat and grabbed my net. Needless to say it was not extended. I got it out and got the fish into it. Taking the fish out of the water, The net broke and the fish was gone. It is not quite as bad as it sounds, because I had to release the fish anyway as it was to large for the slot.
